I appreciate the effort that you are willing to take but making a main map is a lot of work. Especially if you are just discovering the TE.
A suggestion I would make is dont jump headlong into making such a huge map. If you start smaller, like making a map for the ct (where the requirements are not as tough as the main) you will really learn a lot about the TE with out burning yourself out.
If you decide to stick with a main map well good luck....
