My country is the Principality of Wombwell, the currency is The Pint, the mascot is the Yorkshire Terrier and my motto is "All the spirit of the English, with Southerners taken out".

It's a small North Atlantic democratic state of 5 million inhabitants, and has extremely liberal narcotics laws. It's partly socialistic, but also believes in individual freedom and hard-work.

I haven't decided to whether to join the UN yet. ;)

The Dominion of Sagitaria

Motto: Blood, Steel and Honour
UN Category: Father Knows Best State
Civil Rights: Some
Economy: Good
Political Freedoms: Few

The Dominion of Sagitaria is a tiny, pleasant nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The large government devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Commerce receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 20%. A substantial private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Beef-Based Agriculture.

Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Sagitaria's national animal is the bengal tiger and its currency is the cubit.

:)   The only thing I don't agree on is the social welfare part...

The Rogue Nation of Kerpleckastan
"DEATH TO AMREEKA!"

UN Category: Iron Fist Consumerists
Civil Rights: Some
Economy: Strong
Political Freedoms: Rare

Location: Aces High

The Rogue Nation of Kerpleckastan is a tiny, pleasant nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The small, corrupt government is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Defence and Commerce are secondary priorities. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 7%. A healthy private sector is led by the Gambling, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Arms Manufacturing industries.

Crime is a problem. Kerpleckastan's national animal is the chipmunk and its currency is the tactical thermonuclear warhead.

The Dictatorship of Straffo
"straffo is always right: !"

UN Category: Civil Rights Lovefest
Civil Rights: Excessive Economy: Good Political Freedoms: World Benchmark

Location: The North Pacific
The Dictatorship of Straffo is a tiny, devout nation, renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 5 million hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The large, corrupt, liberal government juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Religion & Spirituality, and Commerce. The average income tax rate is 25%, but much higher for the wealthy. A healthy private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales industries.

Crime is moderate, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Straffo's national animal is the dog and its currency is the yoops.

The Dictatorship of Booblandia
"Boobies make me feel better"

UN Category: Psychotic Dictatorship
Civil Rights: Some Economy: Reasonable Political Freedoms: Rare

Location: The North Pacific
The Dictatorship of Booblandia is a tiny, safe nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 5 million are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The enormous, corrupt, socially-minded government devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Social Welfare receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 33%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Gambling.

Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Booblandia's national animal is the blue tit, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the nipple tweak.

The Empire of Santanian
"Much good work is lost for the lack of a little more"

UN Category: Left-Leaning College State
Civil Rights: Superb
Economy: Strong
Political Freedoms: Average

Location: The North Pacific
The Empire of Santanian is a tiny, socially progressive nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 5 million enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

The small government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Social Welfare, and Education. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 6%. A substantial private sector is led by the Cheese Exports industry, followed by Furniture Restoration and Book Publishing.

Crime is a problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Santanian's national animal is the otter and its currency is the santor.

UN Category: Inoffensive Centrist Democracy

Civil Rights: Good
Economy: Very Strong
Political Freedoms: Excellent

The Dominion of Lakotastan is a tiny, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its complete lack of prisons. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 6 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The large government devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Law & Order and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 17%. A robust private sector is led by the Information Technology, Trout Farming, and Retail industries.

Scientists regularly clone human beings for research purposes. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low. Lakotastan's national animal is the beaver, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the wampom.
