What is going on with HTC's servers? I've been noticing lots of lags, warping and rubber bullets lately, but Thursday night took the cake.
Text not working at all
Lighting up planes that take no damage.
Being chased by no less than four planes plugging away at me at less than 400 yards and flying away unscathed in my titanium LA7.
Losing wings, tail and other vital pieces while flying all by my lonely (delayed damage, a collision with some other plane that crossed my path in the warpy HTC space/time continuim?)
Please, please, please get this sorted out.

Yesterday was the worst for me; up in a bomber formation, every time I did something that would put additional sprites out, my FE went into zombie lockstep spaz mode -- I had a bomb drop set up with salvo 8, delay 0.15 seconds, and when I hit the pickle switch, everything suddently went  'drop - jerk - drop - jerk', repeating until all my bombs were dropped... five seconds later. Last I looked, 7 intervals of .15 second was 1.05 seconds, not five seconds. The galling thing about it was that, had my drop gone the way I'd set it up, my second through sixth bombs (and those of my drones) would have landed on the shore battery I was targeting. Instead, I see these neat triangles of bombs splashed across the landscape about half a mile apart...

And then when I get bounced by a 110, every time I fire my guns -- repeating each time I jump to a new position and start firing again -- my FE freezes for about a second when the first shot fires. Whee.

And none of this happened last Saturday in Niemen, so it's either load or arena-specific.

funnily enough i play at about 600 ping and none of this happens to me...wich means it cant be a net problem it hast tobe something with YOUR system...worst that ive experienced is a little lag  dropped from 75-85 down to 25 fps (only noticable difference was where it told me so) and the text buffer took about 10 seconds to change... and that was with 700 people...

oh yeah and my system is a lot less than uber...gforce 2 card and some slow cable internet (not that that is any of your business)

I wish this were simply a problem with my system, but on the night I posted this I wasn't the only one experiencing the problems. I know this because the vox channel was full of comments on the text lag (we're talking lag that lasted minutes, not seconds)
When I experienced the rubber bullet problem I asked the other planes in the area if they were having trouble, received several affirmative responses.
My machine's got more than it's share of problems, but in this case at least, it seems a lot bigger than that.

Bain if you see huge text lag you will also get laged hits.

We have been working on the problem. Don't belive it was even happening with 700 in the main sunday.

Baine I have seen the same as you while playing, I also see you live close to me. I have a Comcast cable modem, if you have Comcast also, then maybe it is a local problem. I have had it happen early morning 8:00am  EST with only 200 players tops, and also when arena was full at nite. The stuttering kinda reminds me of Max Headroom!

Shiva!!

Reduce sound acceleration a notch or two!

I believe there are two ways to do this:

go to start, run, type dxdiag.  On the sound tab I believe you can reduce the acceleration.

in XP
Control Panel, Sound and audio devices, advanced(in the speaker settings section), performance tab

in w98 same as above i think.. just look under multimedia  in control panel

After reading Skurj's post I ran Dxdiag and found that my modem somehow uses my sound card for speakerphone among other things. I have the dial up modem in case my cable craps out, and usually shut off the icon in the system tray on the task bar before logging on to AH, sometimes I don't. I'll try it both ways for awhile and see what happens.

If it's something in my system, then why does it happen in a crowded MA, and not in the Special Events arena during Niemen?
