Well, it's like this. If we say we're shooting for a date, it means only that. We're basically sharing internal plans with you.
If we say we're going to release by a certain date, there's really no reason to doubt us yet. When we've made those statements, we've come through on them.
As to the former case, it's unlikely we'll go down that road anymore. It's a lot easier to give folks our worst case scenario than to deal with getting raked over for what we're trying to accomplish, even when we succeed at it. We release our new versions as soon as they're ready. We don't hold onto new versions and let them gather dust just so we can have an accurate prediction of when it will come out. As soon as it's ready, you get it hot of the compiler.
