Best pickle I ever had was sliced green tomatos with the bread and butter seasoning.  The crunch retaining ability is awesome.  Better than any cucumber pickle.

Okra pickles are good too, especially the "hot" ones from Texas.  I could literally eat an entire jar of those up at the hunting camp, in one sitting.
