Accused of Cheating !

I was going down on A27 from A1 in a Hog (not my usual ride, but hey...). On my way down, I got pinged by a NIKKI (GTR I think) and lost my left Aileron...at that time, I was in a dive at 350 IAS, and as I discovered a trail of Cons on my 6, I decided to run for it...
Had an exchange with 6Guns who told me that I was Smoking & I thought that he spoke to another Hog since I didn't have any Engine/Oil Damage (I checked CTRL D and all I had in Red was the left Aileron). I pursued my way West then North (had 55% fuel at that time) On the deck, Trimming and on WEP with 2 Nikkis on my 6... I run, screaming like a girl (they were 1st at D10...and gradualy lost them up to D30). I come to the point where I have to Ditch (Fuel 0) I try to do so, but GTR manages to kill me right before I type ".ef" ...

Fair enough

I then start to hear that some Bishop is accusing me of cheating..I soon discover that it's 6Gun that tells me that I'm cheating because it was in now way possible that I flew so long with my engine out...

My engine was NOT out on my FE, nor was it in my Damage report (CTRL D)

Also, as I pointed out : IF I WOULD CHEAT, I'D CERTAINLY HAVE A MUCH BETTER SCORE THAN THE ONE I HAVE NOW...

HTC, if somewhere you have a log of that, please check it out !

Let me make this clear: I am looking at you straight in the eye: I am in NOW WAY cheating or HEX Editing !

Every once in a while I get damaged and it doesnt show up on damage list (usually in a p38).  This includes oil and fuel smoke but I still get the damage behaviors to FM.

Only every once in a while.

Now that Im thinking about it: when I do get a damaged engine and it doesnt show on the damage list, I also cant shut the remaining engine off using regular commands (again, in the p38 and again, has only happened a few times).  I end up getting waxxed or RTBing and just exiting out ok.

hehehe well I only can tell here one curious thing that happened to me a month ago more or less.

I was in my 190 as I used to, and I saw a spit jumping me. I made him overshoot...well to make a long story short I'll say that he started a VERY close turn...I did a Sliceback (a trick that works great on 190) and reversed in a dime ,so I kept my position on him. I killed him and he started to yell "cheater cheater a 190 cant turn that well"

lol...

I found that same guy in a 109 after that fight . I was in a 190. I won him his 6 and he said in #1 channel "Warp mode on"...strange thing he started to jump like a klingon...   but I got him between the warps.

Then I said in number one channel "hey Mr. warper...who is the cheater now?"...the answer wont fit well here   So I wont put it.

I found just the same guy in the SEA that night (was one of Udie's no-icon-nights on SEA)...when the guy heard me on #1 channel he called me everything  
(well not that I didnt answer in that one...but I was really pissed at the guy).

As you see...we are all cheaters,Saw...indeed we dont know it but we cheat a lot...we are good   and that is a cheat!

Accused of Cheating !

We all get accused of cheating from time to time, no need to post about it. Anybody with half a brain knows better. I mean, you spend 23 hrs. of the day here on the message board, leaving no time to hack HTC's software.

Seriously, just tell the guy he's full of it in the arena on private channel and explain to him why he's full of it. No Biggie.

I know one night I was flying with Soda or Zig and I was in a Hog.  We bounced a couple folks but I caught one in the engine.

Ctrl D and Engine Oil shows up.

I look behind me, black smoke.

SO I opt to RTB to the closest.

We flew for like 10 Minutes,  I started climbing to extend my glide.  When we got close to a base I had suffiecent alt that I cut Soda/Zig loose to hunt a turn, cause my engine still hadn't seized.

Well Zig/Soda dove on a con, but it got away.  I landed and shut my engine down.

Apparently you can have a very, very, very, minor oil leak in the Hog, or HT has read all the books that said you could knock 3 heads off a P&W and it would still fly.

I had the exact same experience as you Saintaw. My F4U's engine was smokin' and I was a'runnin' from some guy. I finally made it back to base - probably 10 minutes later. The guy doin' the chasin' accused me of cheating also. (btw, engine finally quit on final).

Nobody pays any attention to people who make claims of cheatin' or other such nonsense. If anything, it aptly demonstrates the dweebness of the accuser. At least that's how I take them.

Could it be that the same damage display as the infamous missing wing is at work with the fuel/oil systems? I haven't actually heard anyone from HTC step up and confirm the wing theory...but... perhaps it's the same thing. What looks like a gushing wound to the plumbing could actually be more or less the size of a pin hole.

Saw is a "veteran" of this sim, having been here since beta. He's also one of the more proliferate posters and readers of this BB.

I'd dare say that Saw knows what's going on in the community, knows about net lag and quirks and oddities in AH.

I understand where you gents are coming from when you say "ignore". That's what I do. OTOH, it's no fun being accused to cheating. Methinks 6guns should read the article about how AH works with FE's and such and maybe get some more experience before he slings out accusations like that. All I know is that he's been online on AH for a very short time but have already managed to piss off some great veteran pilots.

6guns, not a slam in any way, but reconsider your approach. It isn't going down too well with many of the good pilots here. Not telling ya how to act, just givin' you the facts.
