MOTD

Set up for 21 Feb: Marching to the Rhine

I feel the need for speed. Late war ETO using the excellent Rhine terrain. Plane-set is as follows:

USAF (all fields accept A73 and A76):
P-51D, P-47D-30, P-38L, B-26, A-20G, B-17 (A60 and A63), C-47, Pnzr-IV, Osty, all the M's

RAF (A73 and A76 only):
Spit-XIV, Typhoon, Mossie, Lanc-III (A60 and A63), C-47, Pnzr-IV, Osty, all the M's

Luftwaffe:
bf109G2/6/10, Me110G-2, Fw190A8/F8/D9, Ju87, Ju88, C-47, Ta152 (only at fields east of the Rhine), Pnzr-IV, Tiger, Osty, all the M's; Me163 at Ulm (A6) and Schweinfurt (A2)

Downtimes:
30 min for ack, 15 for hangers, 30 for other field objects, 60 for field towns, 120 for strat targets, strat disabled.

The RAF aircraft will be limited to two Allied fields in the North, while the heavy bombers will be limited to two Allied airfields behind the front. Only the Tiger will be perked, at about 15 points. I am enabling Me163's at only two of the rear-most LW bases (Ulm and Schweinfurt), as a means of aiding Germany's last-ditch defense against a reset.  I believe the map is large enough that it would marginalize its use until the front line was more or less on top of them.

Why are the RAF restricted to 2 fields at the top of the map?

Makes it a long boring flight to get to the fight.

Well, historically the RAF was operating north of the area covered by this map, but I didn't want to leave them out entirely.  So I compromised.  Hope that explains it.

Most of the time their is a good fight going on up their, when I oraginaly ran this set up I had intended to have No British, since we always have brit planes in these types of set up's I thought it would be nice to pit just US planes aganst German ones, kind of a fresh plane set, I included Brit planes in that set up as a favore to ASW who worked so hard on making this map for us, While this is sabres set up and he added some planes I did not have in mine I feal his is better over all, with the Heavy buffs and the Spit XIV, and the Ta 152 which I did not have.
