before i started my free two weeks i spent about a week offline to learn the planes and commands, i don't like it when someone signs up and jumps right into the MA and then says things like "how do i start my engine" etc etc

Couldnt agree more, but some people have interesting ways of getting their rocks off.

The problem is the alt-f4 joke has been 'cheapened'.

It used to be reserved for newbies with repetitive or incredibly stupid questions, or newbies asking how to get the cheat Fester uses.

Now its...
"How do I wipe my ass?"
"Alt-f4"

I've since moved on to:
"how does that guy warp"
"he holds down the enter key"

It might not come with a sticker on the computer but it does come with a manual which obviously you never took the time to read.

I agree here, I will say this now when I first started the old hands really did help out a lot more then the crowd we have now.  I remember when I was a newb and asking questions.  I am sure bradys5 can attest to my driving him insane.  Hell I still ask questions, and usually get a good response but you will see the occasional alt f4.  I do respond with some smart bellybutton responses sometimes, but after recieving 15-20 request to join my plane I get a little un nerved and send a nice smart bellybutton response back.

Funny .... I guess alt-F4 doesn't do the same thing on all machines. I hit it and got credit for the next ten kills in the same sector I was in. And I was in a goon. Not even close to anyone. People were askin why they weren't getting credit for their kills. I didn't realize until this thread it was the alt-F4. I was wondering why the guy who told me to do it kept repeating himself and didn't believe me when I told him I was ... over and over.

I guess that needs to be fixed or sumpin.
