A census of Australian AH players
« on: March 03, 2003, 05:57:49 AM »
Hi All,

I've been flying AH again for about 10 months now and have merrily plodded my way around the arenas.

In the 'other' sim, a lot of Aussie players hooked up and there was quite a community link up.

I have not seen overtly Australian AH BBS posting or groups over the last 10 months, which leads me to believe there is no general link up of Aussie flyers at this time.

If this is the case I might as well kick off soemthing in the near future to establish some local communication channels.

So if your Aussie and are reading this, then please let me know what the state of play is regarding Aussie squads.

If you are already in a squad, is it an Aussie squad or are you part of a US or Euro or Asian or Med group of people?

Anyone know of Main Area activities of Aussies?

To everyone thanks for allowing this little post.

Brendo,

There are a few of us floating around.

BlueMako is with US squad, how he came to be there I dont know.

Im also with a US squad, when my original squad moved from AW I couldn't afford the $30USD AH was charging at the time. So I stayed on in AW, where the FlyingTigers AVG offered me a home.

SKweed (?) is in Perth, though he just shoots me down everytime he sees me. So i try to avoid him :). I dunno who he is with.

There are also a number of KIWI's floating around as well.

Thats all I know of.

Ciao.

It's because the Kiwis in AH killed off all the Aussies several tours ago.  :D

I've heard the occasional aussie accent in voice, don't remember their names.

I know the squad I'm in "9 giap" has quite a few... dantoo, picko, mijoau, niknah0(me), f6bomber, phychoo, and maybe others I forgot.

I think the BBS needs more localized areas, I'm sure alot of players from japan, germany, etc.  would like to get together and use something other than english.

I was looking for a pony squad as they are my favourite WW2 era aircraft.  I looked up the 412th and they were willing to put up with me so the rest is history.

I shot skweed down a couple of times last night.  If I'd known he was from Perth I would have dweeb hunted him... :D

j/k I like Perth, lived there for 4 years.

As for others:

Zygote is from Sydney I think, he's just rejoined after a break.  Jekyll is an Aussie but he defected to test Target: Korea.

Vulcan is one, so is Spatula I think but he's not around atm.  Just look for the pilots who spend more time as a chute running around the sheep than they do flying. :)

It's a sad day when some good old fashioned Aussie baiting by a kiwi is allowed to pass without comment.  What have our two great nations come to?

to all representing the Antipodes.

I used to fly with KG200 and several of the members were Austrailian. About the only one I see anymore is BlueDog and Odin, but I can't remember his new sig. They both fly for the knights.

None of them were KIWI's :D

Aces High simply couldnt handle a bunch of Aussies working together , 'specially since we havent got a damn thing with real markings on it. :)

G'day Brendo,
AH's only (far as I know anyway) representative of the sunshine state checkin' in.
Dont fly anywhere near as much as I used to, but I'm still lurking around.
Was potman in WB, can remember running into you quite a bit. Bastard purps.
I fly with a bit of a multinational squad, mostly guys that have been flying together since early WB days, couldnt leave 'em if I was dragged away, but if you have some luck getting an 'Aussie Flight Night' happening, I'd be keen to tag along as an extra.

One great nation, with Tassie just off our southern shores and a pair of other  li'l islands over to our SSE inhabited by followers of a football code we delight in showing them how to play, and large, feirce looking natives with tattooed faces?  ;)

He he, not one to ever pass up a jab at the men from our 'other state' :)

What's the point? - It gets tiring having to explain your jibes to Australians.
