Well (and I know this doesn't have to do with flight) I would like to see units of ground units (mechanised or not) holding and attacking positions, including airfields. One person can control a unit of soldiers from 20 to 100. This would mean a new way of capturing airfields. also these units could be controlled as CV's currently are. You could tell them to defend an airfield or area. I know this makes it sound more like a strategy game but of it like this.
1) Different groups of players will come to AH2 and give HTC more income.
2)A very imortant role of the plane was to destroy ground units. This will make strafing more fun and, unlike the sheep, they will actually die.
Also cities will gain even more importance as recruits for these units will come from cities. Also they will support I'm guessing 4 or 5 units with food and war material. So by bombing a city it will hurt your oponents abilty to field units, and by capturing the city you can field more units, but probably only 1 or 2 as they tend not to fully cooperate.
also imagine units of 20 or so Tigers attacking, or a true artillery barrage on a airfield. The possibilties are endless, and the game will be that much more realistic.
I now this is so new it would take forever to implement, but doesn't it sound fun?
Other than that, could we not have hangers control if we takeoff in that plane or not? can we have them like in an area and u tazi from their to the airstrip, so strafing those planes is also a good idea.
I would appreciate ideas added to this, and constructive arguements. (not "man that idea sucks")
Edit:
This new strategy form will also allow the use of a fluid front.
Also imagine bombing raids on these large groups. You might just annihalate it.
Also you the A.I. can respond to attacks and attack in a realistic strategy. each one knows what to do. Check out
http://www.totalwar.comthey can be outfitted separately, some assualt, anti-tank, and even a few snipers(maybe)
also instead of one man controling one unit, he can be in charge of multiple units, adding up to around 5,000 troops I guess, and deploy them as that person sees fit.
I am getting some of my ideas from Medieval: Total War btw.
Just imagine (anyone who's played MTW) units of soldiers exchanging gunfire in a hilly area with a moderate amount of trees, and Stuka screams divng down dropping it's bombing and shooting the enemy units.
also one man could aim far away artillery and really lay down some fire on your pour enemy soldiers or town.
