MSG try to make a short film to show us your problem.

alt + R to start the film  same command (alt +R) to end the film.

The film should be located in the \films of yourAH directory.

Have you made sure that Poll with Interupts is disabled in Windows Game Controller?

This happened to me, and I worked around it.  What OS are you running, I asked once already.

I did, it doesn't seem to work. It says "Windows cannot open this file:" "To open this file, Windows needs to know what program created it."
I will try to explain the problem I am having. The joystick is "loose" when I go to calibrate it. If I barely touch the joystick with one finger the crosshair in the calibration box jumps to one of the sides and when I try to move it back into the center, it won't go, it keeps jumping to a different side.

It create a filer name filmXX.ahf which can be read by AH.
On the 1st page when you enter AH there is a film button.the best way is to create a film like a said previously ,to zip it and then post  the zip in this thread (look at the attach file edit box under your message)

In fact I just wanted to know if you weren't pushing to hard on the stick like I was doing when I was a newbie.

OS is operating system.  Are you running Windows XP?

It's most likely a very easy fix.  Send me an email or post here telling me what operating system you use.

ok, windows xp defaults to read only and causes problems with some sticks.   There are files you can delete, but the easiest way is to uninstall AH, then look on your c: drive and make sure the whole folder is deleted.

Then re install, and make sure your stick and settings files are deleted.

Calibrate your joystick in windows, if you can.

When you log onto AH, DO NOT CALIBRATE YOUR JOYSTICK.
Leave it as is, and don't change your sliders, either.

The calibration in windows should be more than enough.

The same thing happened to me, and I've been flying 3 weeks now since I did that fix, with no trouble.

I didn't have to calibrate it because it flew fine, only thing I didn't like was when you move the joystick the plane bounces back and forth...just like it does with a mouse.

If your only problem is it's reacting like the mouse, then check to make sure you have the joystick selected in your setup.

The joystick is selected. That is my only problem, but when I go to fix that problem, I get a brand new problem...

Don't touch calibration..

try adjusting the scaling, deadbands, damping etc.. perhaps that will help

I got rid of the joystick and now I can't fly with a mouse, my plane does a nose dive when it gets to a certain speed when I am taking off.
