Dear LW Pilots,
III./JG2 LW Fighter Squadron has gone through some major changes and is looking for LW Pilots to join the squadron.
The squadron flies for the ROOK side.. The Squadron will be flying four types of planes and as a whole, BF109G-2, BG109G-6, FW190a-5 and FW190-d9.
The Squadron will be modeled after one of the most famous fighter squadrons during WW2, ( Jagdgeschwader 2 "Richthofen"). JG2 can be traced its roots to Manfred Freiherr von Richthofen and his famous 'Flying Circus' of World War 1, the Jagdgeschwader 'Richthoten' is arguably the most famous fighter unit of all time. Designated JG 1 during the Great War, then disbanded following Germany's defeat, the Jagdgeschwader reformed as JG 132 in 1935 with Arado and Heinkel biplanes. By September 1939 the unit had become JG 2, and it went on to see much action during the Blitzkrieg in Western Europe, the Battle of Britain and then the Defense of the Fatherland. By the end of the war this JG2 was credited with 2700 air combat kills.
The Squadron flys in two arena, the Main and in the CT arena. The squadron leader always flys on Sunday at approximately 10:00 am EST.
