It had been a while since I played around with GPL and it sure brought back some fond memories of when F1 racing was real. Guys like Jimmy Clark (one of my heroes at the time), Dan Gurney and others. It wasn't perfect, too many lost their lives doing it because of the lack of safty measures, but it sure was some good racing. :)

I never watch anymore, it has become as boring as CART and IRL.

So, who won qualifying? No wait let me guess........

I try to be enthusiastic about F1, I used to watch all the races live, even those which started about 3am local time but the last few years have been disappointing to say the least. I'm not sure about some of the changes for this year but hopefully they will bring some of the close racing we used to see in the Prost, Senna, Mansell days but sadly I doubt it. :(

You have to qualify for a place in qualifying. You have a flying lap on friday which determines in which order you take your flying lap in the saturday race qualifier - fastest goes last.

I hope it makes for a better action - when I went to bed last night, Barrichelo was 1st, Schumacher 2nd, with a very mixed up order 3rd to 8th.

After the Ferrari front row, I think the new qualfs have really minced them up.
Great results for Frentzen (4th), Panis (5th) and Heidlfeld (7th)

Well.....
Not sure exactly how much can be attributed to rule changes but it was certainly one of the better Grand Prix's I have watched recently. Well worth the 02:30 wake up call. Coulthard wins, Montoya 2nd, Schumacher down in 4th. Barrachello sticks his into a wall :( (Apologies to anyone trying to stay away from the result) :p

Imho, Cart and IRL are boring because of the oval tracks. :)

Today proved "boring" is not the case with F1 anymore.

I've watched almost every F1 race since 92 or so, this was the most exciting F1 race I've seen.

I hope the same trend continues throughout the season!

Cool Camo, maybe I can catch a rerun!

P.S. CART does do some tracks other than ovals, Indy league does only ovals. At least that was the case last time I watched a CART race.

I skimmed over snafu's post - I don't wanna know the result.:) I'll actually watch a full grand prix, instead of switching off half way through like last year. I think the re-run is this afternoon.

Saw this thread earlier and deliberately didn't read it.  Glad I didn't, as it would have ruined the excitement for me - I wanted to see David win for myself! :D :D :D :D :D :D
