Tank Town  The great place to furball with GVs. Why dont we
all agree to each keep two bases and make it a no fly zone.

UNLESS its a base needed for reset then all bets are off.  To kill
or capture these bases otherwise defeats the purpose of the
town.  Why capture all the bases ?? Then there is no one to
fight, To just kill the bases well, Then there is no one to fight.

Come on guys lets leave it alone so we can use this place to
improve our GV skills and ground tactics and JUST HAVE FUN.

Virtually no way to enforce anything that isn't controlled by the game, especially with so many folks.

Even though there's no way to enforce it, I second the motion.  If we can police ourselves and follow those basic suggestions, I'm sure the game would be a lot more fun.

Is there anyone who disagrees with the basic idea the original poster made?  Or is the only dissent centered around the 'there will always be someone to ruin it' aspect?

Before tank town, players were in two groups:
- working towards the goal of the game as defined by the manual (field capture), even using GVs for this task if neccessary, often joined by dedicated GV drivers.
- furballers

Now with tank town...
- players trying to capture fields
- furballers
- GV furballers

result: even less players playing the game according to the rules defined by the manual.

It's either time to make pursuing the goal of the game more fun, or to disable field capture at all.

Personally I think Trinity just sucks all around... the GV furballing is lame, but it kills some time while I wish for a reset. And yeah, it's lame when people take planes there.. but hey, if they're bad enough that they need to strafe panzers for kills, maybe they're more to be pitied than despised.

That's the way I feel about spawn campers (unless I happen to be setting up a tent at a nice juicy spot).
After playing Trinity a couple of times now, I've decided that while I like tank town, I much prefer the open valley on the main island of the islands map.
Spawn camping is virtually unheard of, and you can actually use tank tactics and improve your gunnery.
In tank town it's find out where they're spawning, park, turn off your vehicle and then start running up your score with point blank shots until somebody spawns and kills you while you're busy knocking somebody else off.

I think the 20k + mountains around Tank town helps keep a lot of the riff raff... I mean ... AC out.

You know how long it took me to try to get my IL2 over them?!?!

I love taking 30 minutes to get my fully loaded P47 over the mountains so I can kill a few cockroaches.  Gives me time to run to the bathroom, get some beer and chips, and check my email.

I'll admit I've flown into Tank town......ofcourse what prompted that was getting waxed right after I spawned. No, I didn't spawn repeatedly, once was enough afterall momma didn rais no dumy. So grabbed an A20, flew in killed a couple GV's then got waxed by an M16, no problem, thats what they're there for. Was bored so I grabbed a form of B17's and carpet bombed the joint. Which I believe prompted other countries to fly in a little cover and do some groundpounding of their own. 20k mtns will make folks think twice about flying to Tank town but if they are there to keep folks out then the mtns should be 40k. If I ever get that bored again, bored enough to fly bombers (doesnt happen that often) next time I'll grab a formation of lancasters killshooter be damned. lol FLAME ON!!!!!!

If you're not following this rule, you're abusing the game.

'Abusing' no less. I hope this is sarcasm... Otherwise I have only one response, no matter how much I abhor the general rudeness around here, en that is : Fudge you VERY much.

The objective of Aces High is to have fun, plain and simple.
