HiTech business may suffer...

...if people like gunman26 either change their attitudes or loose there radio privledges for extended periods of time or like nath are baned from AH for some time. I don't know what the story was with nath but gunman26 is a constant problem. Every day he gets in Ah he curses at people and calls them names as well as make acusations and threats and all around bring the atmosphere down.  He says he is "questioning the authority" of those who say you can't do this and when asked why he says "b/c i know who much it infuriates you people."  It has been explained to him that the reason for rules agains this behavior is

1) to make AH a place where people can fly and have fun without reading crap like that and as general respect for otheres

and...

2)because of the fact that when new members read this stuff all the time and all the negitive things he has to say about the game and people in the game it reflects badly on AH and can drive sim'ers away.

He still continues to imply HTC and the AH community are full of "holier than thou" people that "analize everything you do"  and that he will "say what I want to and there is nothing that anyone can do, so squelch me if you don't like it."

Half of the new members can't even change there radio chanels for the first couple days till they ask about it or are told how to so they don't give out info to the enemy... so how are they to know the .squelch 1 comand.  this leaves them stuck seeing it till they leave

I know I haven't always been the most plesent person in the game but i try to be and often apologize if i get out of line.
I have also seen numorous otheres get frustrated and mouth off a little.  this is to be expected in competitive environments, but gunman26 in his own words says he does it to piss otheres off.

most of the time he doesn't even have a reason for his attitude othere than to make otheres mad and that is not being competitive that is being a looser and someone that the AH community DOES NOT NEED!!!!!!!

nor does HT's business

BTW if you don't realize it this is Beowulff
i changed my name cuase i realized i needed an attitude check and wanted to start off fresh...left my squad so as to not give them bad name and lost almost 2k in perkies cuase i relized that my attitude was not right for AH or my squad. I try to keep my attitude in check and apologize for ocassional lapses anytime i may have made them

it is just a game...
but it is HTC's livelyhood it is there investment and needs to be treated with respect.

<S> all and <S> HTC gang

Nice post Beowulff.

I know the guy you're talking about, and have been disturbed by him myself. i haven't showed the restraint that I should in dealing with him, and have found myself saying more than I should to him. The guy is a plain nuisance fer sure.

now there's an understatement!!   big <S> for admitting it though - that takes much more balls than the act - couldn't agree more with you about this gunman26 character as well - constant source of irritation

I sent Pyro an email with 5 or 6 cut outs screenshots of the textbuffer. Did it yesterday after being fed up with this chap, who's been warned so many times, been talked to in a friendly manner, been shouted at, been instructed, been asked politely, you name it.

Nothing has worked, so I figued it was time for an email.

I've squelched the guy.  He always has some sort of commentary as to why you shot him down....or, like others, insist YOUR connection bad (as if SKILL wasnt involved in the shoot down!).

Thought we had moderators in the Main Arena...couple weeks ago, they were getting blasted for shutting people up....now a few weeks later they arent doing so?

I just wish the squelch list would stay on everytime I logged in.  In only takes a few of this guy's rants to remind me to go on and squelch him again.  And frankly, its a real pain in the ass.  Sure I could squelch the entire channel 1 deal, but I like giving my adversaries a if they blow my Lanc outta the sky  (or playful jests, right ElGuapo?  I have to give you directions so that G10 of yours can find me and I can continue your skydiving lessons   )

I was logged on last night & the guy was calling all sorts of people names & being very disruptive. It is nice when something is done with people that are constantly like that.

<Just a humorous sidenote...the is no defending those that are disruptive and insulting...and this covers off-mappers too!!>

Hello rudedawg- I think having a little introspection and admitting that anger gets to you at times is a positive thing.  Gets to me at times too but I usually cuss out the monitor or my godzilla model standing on top of my puter.  I would also like to see HTC take a hard line on the disrupter types. Ban em for a few days-maybe they will grow up, maybe not but they should not be allowed to mess up game play for everybody.
