but I got a questions how come there is snow on the left side of the pic and none on the right?

Only way I could say is you possibly have a water line running there or, the decomposing of the pine needles was giving off enough heat to melt the snow quicker..

What's the equivalent cc of the rotary engine to a normal 4 stroke? Do they still have problems with the rotary blade like seal (like piston rings) burning out?

Norton F1 motorbike had a rotary engine in too, though with the gyroscopic effect of being leaned around corners made huge power variances.

yes the rotary seal is there main problem,,,,plus rotary motor mix crude oil in with its gas,,like a 2 stroke motor does,,,one of the reason they keep being banned by the envirmental people,,lol,,bad polution,,but they are quick and very light,,,but a dieing breed of motors,,too bad,,i think there very cool,,i know a guy who built them for a living,,very costly motors to pump up

most people are taking mazda rx7s and sticking 302 v8s in them,,they fit under the hood air cleaner and all,,just flip over the crossmember,,and all the wiring hooks up,,because mazda is pretty much ford,,lol,a mazda rx7 with a stock 302,,,225 horses,,,will have the same power to weight raito as a ford ac cobra,,,will run allmost 12 secs in the quarter mile i hear,,and thats just stock,,lots cheaper to build up a 302 then a rotory motor,,and 302 will last longer,,,one of the reason there all going over to v8s instead of the poor dieing rotary motor,,good motor,,just spendy to build

I wouldn't say Wankels are dieing; Mazda is continuing their development. In new Renesis engines the in- and exhaust canals/manifolds are moved from sides to the ends of combustion chambers.
I heard that those engines can stand plenty of RPMs but I also heard that exhaust pipes are quite pricey.
Ex co-worker had one and he said exhaust pipes were having somekind of heat resistant coating and he thought that was the reason for the high price of that part.

Pops had an RX-4 for years. Drove it down from AK when we moved. I had an '80 RX-7 for a few years myself. They fly well, but the landings are a squeak. Would love to have a Miata with a Wankel in it!!!

oh god, the FD3S

My brother was telling me about that v8 conversion hyena. i thought he was joking, because he's a serious gearhead when it comes to muscle cars. while i was driving to NC, he was otw to nebraska with my father (king mechanic) to get a 440 engine for his charger.

i caught the family car interest, but i'm the black sheep because i like imports.

this particular car just had the engine either rebuilt or replaced. trying to make sense from the reciepts the dealer included with it proving the 13BT wasn't old.

there are a few things i noticed on the ride back which i'm looking to find an expert to ask about. right now this is the checklist i have compiled:

[ ] Turbo downpipe cracked
[ ] Throttle-position (idle control) sensor not working properly (car idles at 2k - 3k sometimes)
[ ] Right door automatic seatbelt works intermittently
[ ] Right door window switch dead
[ ] No power to electronics when off (clock resets, no interior lights, etc etc)
