What the hell are Cameroon, and Guinea doing with seats on the security council of the UN?

I mean, we're not talking about 2 world powers here.

How does this work? China...Russia, USA....Cameroon....HUH?!

Five permanent members with veto powers. A dozen or so of members that change at regular intervals - alphabetically or by draw. Every country get's to sit in a security council.

USA, UK, china, france , russia are permanent members of the security council and have veto power, the rest of the seats  are filled on a rotating basis by other members of the UN.

Also no point in being in the United Nations if you have no say at all for your country.  :D

I think in order to sit on the UN Security Council you have to have had a Muslim-based riot within the past 6 years, or alternatively have a beauty queen so lovely that Mohammed would marry her.  Or at least that's what a Nigeran fashion writer once said.
