Been around since Beta 1.0 (under a different alias then).

Trinity map is very cool. I like the centre of the map with the mountains to prevent dweebs from crashing the party in Tank Town. :)

Yes, lack of CV use is an issue, but it's a nice addition to the overall map set.

Trinity has a few issues.  The bigest problem is simple....the mountains are unrealistically done, and hinder gameplay.  I do not enjoy spending 20 minutes just to have the oportunity to get high enough to get into enemy territory....then another 10 minutes to actually get there.

What we end up with is a huge furball over the coastline.

Bomber missions are pointless, because....weeks after its release, we still have a map that does nothing to show you the mountains...so your bomber mission is screwed unless you have the area memorized.  Ive been told a new map/fix is done...still waiting.  Also you still cant see the map text lables for crud at higher resolutions.

Personally, I love mountains and such...but this map is just a bit more than I care to endure.

well put ALF.. I agree it is a great peice of work ans salute to who made it.. Its the mountains that let it down and the 17.5 k Vbases..also the colour i have had problems with..:)

The problem is (unless you fly late war exclusively) is the fields are to far apart. The layout is great, the mountains suck, but so do they "valleys" on the pizza map.

A map like mindinao did the mountains well. They arent to high and theres valleys and bowls to fly in. The bases are a perfect distance apart.

The problem is that mindinao is too small to hold 400+ and the fronts are so small that its gets extremely crowded.

The ute map is the best imho. Then islands. They are small but theres room to breathe.

Trinity most of the time is a good map.
But it still has the killer fault that most of the other maps do.

Despite it's size, it forces entire teams through very narrow channels.  So instead of spreading the players out like a 512 map should be able to, it STILL concentrates them in only two or maybe three places.

The size of the map matters less than the layout of the fields.  When fields are spaced widely, it forces people into the shortest routes.  IMO, no field should be more than 25miles away from it's neighbors, UNLESS for some specific strategic reason(i.e. HQ airbases)
