Yea, that is good news- I hope they fry the [EDIT] (my language might be a little to strong, but I don't think so).... guy... that kidnapped her too.  Or better yet, hang him until he suffocates.  Or shoot him in the feet and work their way up.  Honestly, there really isn't anything I wouldn't like to see them to do that guy, as long as it is slow and painful.

I can't imagine the agony the family and the kid have been through. I never thought there'd be a happy ending to this one.

It is indeed, good news.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

OK, am I the only one that thinks it's a little strange that she was just walking down the street with these people......... wearing a wig........ not trying to get away? she didn't even say anything to the police when they came up to question the guy. I'm glad she's home, and I'm glad she's OK, but this whole thing seems kinda fishy.

Nothing fishy at all, think about it your a 14yr old girl awoken at 3 in the morning at gunpoint by a scary looking motherdiddlyer.  Who knows what he did to her over the course of 8 months.  Yes she might have had opportunities to escape, Say in that something is "FISHY" is the most assanine diddlying statement I have seen.  For gods sake man she is diddlying 15, do you have any idea how much control a person can have over someone at that age?  The psychological trauma of just being taken away from your family would be debilatating, not to mention having a gun in your face while god knows what was done to you.  FISHY-----gimme a diddlying break.

Questions emerged late Wednesday as to the control her apparent captors may have exercised over the girl. One reporter, Mike Carter of The Seattle Times, told MSNBC’s Dan Abrams he had received information that Elizabeth had been stopped by police “in other states,” and that the girl “gave fake names in those states.” Carter said that “initially, she didn’t identify herself as Elizabeth Smart until police confronted her.”
“She wanted to get out, but she didn’t know how,” Carter told Abrams. “She had some survival instincts, and she felt if she said anything, she might be hurt.”

I'm just sayin it's diddlyin weird man, don't get all pissy. I'm just sayin a 15 yr old is almost an adult, next year she'll be driving a car, making adult decisions........ I'm thinking if its the middle of the day, in the middle of the city, you wanna go home, you wanna see your parents, your captor isn't carrying a gun, and a cop walks up and starts asking questions......... diddlyIN SPEAK UP!
assanine------- give ME a diddlyin break.
