Why should it become universal?

If you don't like it, you can squelch channel 1.
If I like it, I can leave it on.  Why would you want me to not be able to read channel 1?

Got to have channel 1 because RaUmL leaves Bishops and goes slumming in Knight land occasionaly. If there was no channel 1 I would miss these educational, stimulating and informative comments.
