Iraq, Israel, and Nukes...
« on: March 17, 2003, 08:05:35 AM »
I really hope we can keep the Israelis in check here. I have a bad feeling Saddam is going to put some WMDs in Tel Aviv, and Israel is going to want to retaliate with Nuclear weapons.

This is a VERY scary possibility.

We need to keep the Israelis on the sidelines on this one.

I sure hope The President and his people have this one in check before the shooting starts.

word is, the much improved Patriot systems are already stationed in Israel.  Saddam is limited by his delivery systems to launching from the narrow H1-H2(airfields) area at the western tip of Iraq, and even then can only aim for the largest Israeli target, Tel Aviv, so his trajectories are pretty much known and precalculated.   He might get some chem and bio on Israel tho; its highly doubtful if he's actually assembled a deliverable nuke yet.

It would be surprising if these things work worth a damn.  The first ones were just expensive roman candles.  They are probably meant to deter attack by making potential attackers doubt their ability to hit the target.  Hussein probably doesn't give a crap either way, if he has rockets that will reach Israel he'll probably use them.

If Iraq has no WMDs, we've got nothing to worry about, as far as Israel goes. That's why I'm worried.

Meanwhile, though they never admitted it, we all know Israel has Nuclear Warheads....

Let's hope this thread does not become prophesy.

where were you in the gulf war?  IIRC they had a very high success rate.  Also have a friend who served in the gulf, whom concurred.

not really millions and millions in development and lots of gov lies on how they were a great weapon. leading to millions and millions more on a fundimentaly flawed weapons sysetm. i.e. it is just about useless and always will be.

how exactly could it be worse?

Its really really funny to see someone who has named themselves "lord dolf vader" to spout such liberal nonsense.

Can you imagine...  Star Wars episdoe 29, Dolf (Darth was just wayyy so militaristic) Vader is now supporting "flower power".  He's got a new tye dyed cloak, strings of peace beads around his neck.  Little peace symbol stickers on his helmet.

And of course he only uses the dark side of the force for "love not war..." and international (inter-galatic?!?!) consensus.

:p

Sorry, I couldn't help it.  The imagery is just wayyyy too funny!
