Nor is our credibility helped by the appearance that our partners in Washington are less interested in disarmament than they are in regime change in Iraq. That explains why any evidence that inspections may be showing progress is greeted in Washington not with satisfaction but with consternation: it reduces the case for war.
Who is this joker? The current regime has shown for the last 10 years that it will not live up to its original agreement with the UN to disarm. Now this idiot says 'inspections may be showing progress.' The only reason Hussein let inspectors back in (after throwing them out years ago) is because the US 'imperialist cowboys' sent a large military force into his neighborhood. Even still, he is playing games and not disarming. So regime change is the only way to disarm him.
European politicians like this guy are not up to the task of leadership. He is probably really good at guaranteeing his constituents universal health care, better schools, tighter gun restrictions, cooler weather. But when it comes time to make unpleasant decisions with grave implications, he sniffs at the polls and takes the path of least resistance. He is just like a Democrat.
