Are you saying there are no WMD or are you saying THEY (French) are saying (or betting) there are no weapons?

Just for the record... I'll bet any weapons found (at least the first few) will be declared "planted" by the U.S. (err... declared by "allies in opposition to the use of force".. naturally Saddam will say that)

....any takers?

That's out of order. I've pissed off plenty of people and haven't received anything.

Have any of them insulted your wife?

I'm used too it now.
It happened before the recent event too ...
When I started AH some 3 year ago I was very surprised to be insulted by some American just because I was french.

Why this question about my wife ?

Nothing straffo - nothing to do with you or your wife. I was trolling for someone, so don't scare the fish away. ;)

I'm really sad to hear that mate. I thought the nobheads were a minority in real life. Name a few names. It's unacceptable.

I was getting so many rude IMs in the MA I finally gave up my account. LOL Why pay fifty cents a day to get insulted? I can get that for free from my mother in law.

France, and Britain, did honor their pact with Poland.  They were reluctant, but that was understandible given their losses in WWI.  The French managed a small offensive across the Rhine, attempting to take pressure off of Poland, but didn't sustain it.

Ironically, the problem could have been disposed of earlier with *zero* loss of life.  When Hitler directed that German troops move into the Rhineland in violation of the Versaille Treaty, the German General Staff, led by Ludwig Beck, was ready to arrest Hitler as a lunatic, if the French had so much as begun to mobilize the reserves.  That was never done, as France was badly polarized between left and right, and still traumatized from the last war.  "For the want of a nail, the war was lost."

The average French fighting man is neither more, nor less, brave than his contemporaries from any country.  Out or respect for those Frenchmen, both soldier and civilian, who died fighting the Germans during WWII, I will not disparage the competence or courage of their descendants.  They shouldn't be stigmatized by us because of the faults or idiocies of French diplomats or generals.

Regards, Shuckins

Right, as descendant, in part of immensely courageous French warriors, I can only imagine their chagrin at the current leadership of their country.
