Maybe you can't read then- I don't think you, or your posts, are funny. In fact I think you, rc51, and BGBMAW have deteroriated this bulletin board with your spamming, profanities and links to burn victims to the point it needs to be said- you guys are punks. I lived the burn victim lifestyle with a family member who was severely burned, and considered your link to be highly inappropiate. I'm also a Vet, and considered your remarks regarding veterans to be offensive. You are a clown dude, and I'd say that to your face, or BGBMAW's face, or rc51's face. You're all cut from the same cloth and I intensely dislike all three of you. You're all useless pieces of toejam.

Uh huh.... then UN resolutions do in fact mean nothing at all.

I thought it was only Saddam who believed this, apparently the rest of the world (except the US and Britain) agrees.

Not to split hairs or anything, but the US and Britain aren't exempt from sidestepping the will of the UN either. Your post is dichotomy incarnate. In otherwords, 1441 is a UN resolution and as such (it would seem to me) needs to be dealt with by the UN as the UN sees fit. Hussein isn't cooperating with the UN with regards to that resolution, but neither is the US/Britain in their remedy.

Now... You can argue that it's beside the point... And that the US needs to defend itself and cannot let Hussein have WMD (or whatever the reason de jour) regardless of anything. That's fine. But to continue to use the noncompliance with UN resolutions as a justification while at the same time ignoring the UN's own determination of how to deal with that seems.... arsed backwards.

Maybe I have it all mixed up... late night, just woke up.

There is no resolution against action, there is a resolution for disarmament.

So to put it correctly: We are sidestepping the will of the UN because we are tired of being the only force keeping their resolutions for Iraq working.

We, the US and Britain, obviously want Saddam disarmed more than the UN does.

I agree... But it still doesn't negate the illogicality of using the noncompliance with UN resolutions as a justification for war if the UN itself doesn't feel it justifies that action... at least yet.

The UN may be wrong, and the US et al is reserving the right to invade regardless. But it can no longer be in the guise of enforcing UN resolutions. Those are UN resolutions, and it is up to the UN to enforce them how they see fit. The minute that the US/Britain etc. turned their back on the UN and decided to invade regardless of the UN's wishes, it's has become something wholey removed from the UN... resolutions and all.

Until or unless you get UN approval to enforce UN resolutions, you can't claim to be over there enforcing them.
