A "war" actually was waged between two countries in South America a long time ago, with a soccer game being the last straw. Memory fails me which countries they were...I think Uruguay and Bolivia.
Anyway, tension had been building up for quite some time concerning the basic necessities of life...and one of these was toilet paper . Booing at the soccer game quickly turned into a riot, and the beginning of the "war."
Several days later, a bomber appeared over one of the countries. Think it was a B-26 or another WWII era bomber. They proceeded to bomb targets with rolls of toilet paper, thus ending the war, for the time being...at least until the next soccer game. This war was known as the "Toilet Paper War."
I tried to look this up on the Internet, but I wouldn't know where to start. I only remember hearing about this passingly many years ago. Do any of you know anything about this "war", what it was about, and even whether it really happened, or why?
Just urban legend or actual history?
