You mean the hurry up, login, and wait routine?
For the coops, pretty much... there will sometimes be nights I get lucky and there's a couple good coop hosts that will run missions.
I don't know if they moved over yet, but the VEF and things like that were organized squad wars for Il2... but with the release of FB just now occuring in Europe, it'll probably be a while before the organized events move over.
There are quite a few dogfight servers with "historic" matchups up, but a lot of them are using that damned new mountain map that is killer even on my system. It's a fantastic map, but for whatever reason (poorly optimized, or the FB engine just can't draw high polygon terrain, or too many of those multi-layer forests, I dunno..) it is just SLOW. and this is on a GF4/Athlon XP 2000+ system.
But yeah, it's pretty much go there and hope there's a good coop about to launch or look for a good dogfight host. Now you can find out the settings the host uses before joining by clicking on a button labelled info next to the host's name.
Most of 'em will put something like "41 mountain map server" and the list of difficulty options they have will be underneath it.
