This may be a very ligitimate reason for HTC to stop the H2H side of AH for non-subscribers, if H2H's attitude of 'change the game to suit yourself' means that instead of being given the control to make your own setups, it instead encourages cheats or indeed gives them a platform to test their cheats in without being seen, in the interest of this game which I pay money for I'd rather see H2H stopped.

I know it is an enjoyable thing for a lot of customers but in the end if it starts to damage the reputation of AH or ruins it with cheat codes then it will have to go.

I have a simple theory here. If you are the kind of person who can afford and are willing to pay ligitimately to play a game you are far less likely to be the hacking type. There are those that would cheat if its easy sure, but generally if you have the mentality that winning by use of cheat codes is somehow rewarding and you derive pleasure from screwing up HTC youre hardly likely to be prepared to pay them for the pleasure for long periods. Cheat codes basically make games very boring to play longterm. Try it yourself on games like resident evil or half-life etc (you know cheat codes in mags that allow you to have a god mode or something) I garentee you if you make yourself invinsible or take unlimited ammo you will get bored within a single session of play. I learned long ago that I dont like cheat codes because as soon as the game loses its challenge its no better than a video clip.Theres no challenge only visual treats (ie seeing that last level or end you couldnt see by skill alone :))

what do you think?  Should we basically stop the free H2H > it would remove the free to use platform for the hacker types to practice their trade on wouldnt it? Those same hackers would then have to either pay for a sub in order to use their cheat  in MA where its more likely to be noticed by others, or they will have to somehow use false accounts or keep using the 2week trials in order to 'use' their cheat.HTC has much better chance of catching account cheats than the guy from 'anyhwere in the world' with no ID using the free H2H and deriving fun rom messing up others enjoyment.Make these same fools pay for an account and they'll move on to their next free game.

I think HTC has given away the free stuff for a tad too long, now the game is much better known it doesnt need the free play.It was a kind thing to allow us to use the game on LAN's and id be sorry to see that stopped but if it means less chance of some fool ruining the whole thing for us I'd sacrifice the chance to use AH for nets. If on the other hand we start to see people using cheats would we be willing to pay to play still?

Personally I think I'd leave if I start to see it become commonplace. Why try to win in a game when the other guy cant lose? especially if its costing money to do so.Cheats and hacking is a huge risk to HTC's livelyhood. If i were them id have to be prudent I think, and remove the free use of my game. Why risk their games reputation for something which is earning them nothing?

The fact of the matter is it's quite possible to cheat in AH.  I know people who have used a hex editor to grab the code for the training bombsite and insert it into the MA from the client side.  It was well demonstrated by barrel rolling and hitting any target from 20k plus with a bomber.  With this process you could grab anything from the training arena and use it on the MA.  I'm not sure about this but have seen the training "laser" bombsite used first hand.

Heh, AGJV,  notice they actually censored my signature? Decided don a "No-war" T-shirt on to this forum and guess what, few hours later, it mysteriously vanishes. But if that is the opinion of the moderators, ah well, so be it. A little provocation to people's conscience don't seem to pay off, eh?

Anyhow, it was two incidences reported to me by people of my squad I think who knows their stuff. Of course, no films. So I strongly urged them to take recordings of incidences which seem to be strange.

The most frequent incidences reported were warps and sniping, and speed - of course, which is also the most frequent incidences of people calling others a 'cheater' in MA, too. The 'timed' warping, 1300 yard sniping is often reported but it is true that I have yet to see such a film.

Rumors, as it is, I hope them to be just that, only.

But as I remind you, the 'garner' incident in WB was not something which people expected.

Guess you haven't seen the other thread yet. Blame me ... I called you on using a sig as a protest sign that you could drag into every single thread in every single forum. I also challenged all of your "points" on the sign while I was at it. I applaud the moderator that nixed both our sigs. No place for that there.

Just sayin'.

Ok ... sorry .... on with the topic.

Thanks.

First off, amen to Hazed... if it really is a problem, that would seem to be the obvious solution. Even though I sometimes go into H2H just to boost my ego, lol. Second... as I mentioned before, accusations of cheating fly like feathers in the wind when someone doesn't like the outcome of a fight. No tracers, good bounce... you must be cheating! A 550 ias 202? Hacker! That can be done, BTW... at 550 ias the 202 is actually still somewhat controllable. Try it sometime. My favorite 262 killer, heheh!

I do fly mainly in CT, so maybe you guys have seen things I haven't... but I really haven't seen anything yet that can't be attributed to connection or simple net lag. Maybe I need to fly more than a half dozen hours a week, lol :D

Warping is a fact of life, but one thing I cannot understand happens once in awhile, unfortunately I never get it on film (rarely use it). I was cruising to an nme field at about 7K at 350 indicated in a Dora when a 109 was coming at me from 12:00 high. He never fired but blew past me and I kept him in sight with views, just to see what he was up to. I watched him pull a very tight nearly flat turn onto my six, and he was gaining on me, BIG TIME! OK, unless he was in a UFO cloaked to look like a 109, how did he do a high speed pass, a high G turn, and instantly start gaining on me like I was on final approach when I was doing over 350 indicated???

I want one of dem planes!!!
