What about an arena with all the bases mixed up?. So, no just a clear and extense geographical area asigned to each country. An inmediate side effect will be that knowing wich side is attacking a determinate base will be almost impossible.

There's has been more than one civil wars, and I'm confident that the people involved or affected think of it as The Civil War  .

But, gotta admit; love the idea of straffing enemy troops at Gettysburg. I'ød have to be a southerner of course; cannot be with the "good" winning side  

Grant is in for a big time surprise methinks

General Grant wasn't at Gettysburg.  The Union commander of the Army of the Potomac at Gettysburg was General Meade.

General Lee was, of course, commanding the Army of Northern Virginia for the Confederacy at Gettysburg.
