...how quickly this thread changed tracks.

I've heard mass (groups of people) prayer (regardless of what it is directed at) helps people overcome illness and dire situations.

Does this mean there's something beyond us that has influence on the situation, OR does it simply mean the collective will of a people can influence the outcome?

Discuss...

Yes... please do something "real" and pray to the non-existent everloving god...

if you know you can't prove it? :D

He exists for me, I believe in him and have felt his influence in my life. Am I better than you for that? I guess that would depend from which perspective you wanted to view that from. It wouldn't be for me to say

I agree completely :)

Define "real".

Something that can be sensed?  Taste, touch, smell, see, hear?

That means dreams are "real"...

Every day waking life is "real"...

Hmm, we have multiple realities.

Think of the Matrix.... take the red pill, or the blue pill. :)  I wish we had that choice :D

For the same reason that you post what you do. You can't prove it either.

Yes... we can peacefully coexist.

It's okay.

Really.

It is.

We all are affected by this war and prayer is my weapon.  It is a powerful weapon.

As someone who does perimeter patrols for Sydney KFS airport...how exactly did you look for a standoff weapon (even better whats your definition of one - because mine would seem to be different)

And as an atheist...I'll just armchair it thanks.

To me, stand-off means a weapon fired from an aircraft at a target that is beyond visual range, which guides itself to target while the aircraft flies home.

Not sure how that would transate to airport security.
