New video card...did I do good?
« on: March 24, 2003, 02:44:49 PM »
I just picked up an NVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200 (64m DDR) on the advice of my IT guy.

I didn't pay for it, so I can't complain if it is not the best I could have gotten.

What is the general impression of the card?

Best Buy had a pricing error last week and was offering the PNY GF4Ti4200 64MB for $79 with no rebates, lots of people that bought the card opening installing found out the card was in fact the 128MB version, I'm so pissed that I am a broke college student and didnt have the money to hop on this hell of a deal. Oh well

If it's not he 128mb 8xAGP the 64mb ddr card is faster.

 That is :

 128mb 8xAGP
 64 mb ddr
 128mb 4xAGP

 Is the order.

You are already extremely CPU limited. You're pretty much in a situation where you need a complete rework of your system if you want a real upgrade.

Your system must be at least 3 years old anyway so it's time to open the wallet already :)
