Manfred (Freiherr) von Richthofen, the Ace of Aces in WW1.
Actually his brother was an ace as well, Lothar Von Richthofen. With a very different approach to combat, Manfred once said about Lothar: "My brother is a butcher"!!!
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

you're right Angus, his little brother downed about 40 aircraft in his career or during a mission, don't recall, but he was 'better' then Manfred.

Many people think Manfred shot everyone down in his  Fokker Dr.1 which isn't right. he used a differend plane, dont remember type....anyone?

Manfred helped Lothar a lot when they were flying together. I think Lothar survived the war but died in a plance crash later.

Think the Baron achieved most of his kills in the Albatrosses...  Not sure if it was the dII or dIII

Richthofen scored  the final 21 of his 80 in the Triplane, the rest in various models of Albatros fighters.

France's Rene Fonck, officially credited with 75 kills, likely scored more than Richthofen because Fonck often flew lone patrols deep behind enemy lines, where confirmation of kills was often impossible (in addition Fonck was by all accounts a jerk so nobody was going to go out of their way to help him try to get confirmations).  In contrast, Richthofen always flew with his Staffel and his kills were always credited to him.

Lothar was killed in a plane crash in the early '20s.
