« on: March 27, 2003, 04:08:45 AM »
Hey, mainly to Saitek X45 owners, is the stick worth getting?, my MS precision pro rudder controls have gone up the wall so im looking for a new stick, i came across the X45 for £58 which seems pretty damn cheap, sooooo, what are your opinions on it??      Thanks in advance!

I love the X45 too, but I have to say that it caused me no end of grief to get it working when I bought it.  That was a month before they released the drivers for XP.  I was still on 98 at the time anyway, but to get it working I ended up having to use a third party developer software (Dauzimmer).  I estimate 40 hours of my time went into getting rid of Saitek drivers, getting the Dauz drivers working and then figuring out the Hazard script required to load profiles.

The new release of drivers, however, is apparently a solution to all of my previous problems.  I have just loaded XP onto my sysytem and will be setting up the stick on my machine this evening with the new XP drivers.

Stay tuned.

I still have my X36 set as a backup for my Cougar. I've lent the X36 to my boss and he's hooked.

LOL yeah right... you mean you've misplaced your X36 ...

"He's hooked" kinda indicates it maybe difficult to pry it from his cold stiff fingers until he buys his own...
