Attack of the polygons
« on: April 01, 2003, 01:45:56 PM »
This was sent to me recently by my old WW2 CO. He wants to play here but has a unique graphics problem. This may be something you've already addressed but since I've been away a while I may have missed it. Help him out guys. I'll forward a link for this post to him. Thanks.

I played AH ages ago. However now I bought a new gfx card and I get weird graphics bug in the form of, well looks like polygons mixing all over depending on where i move my mouse. Impossible to make anything out.

My specs are:
Athlon 1800+ XP
Win 2000
GeForce 4 mx440
DirectX 9.0

Do you have any idea what this might be or if anyone you know does? Would appreciate it :D tnx. I've wanted to try AH again you see.
Razer

Hellcat FG

1) update to at least directx 8.1
2) start AH, click video, then check "disable palettized textures"

Hope this helps.

I have seen more problems with the mx440 video cards than any other video card.

Sometimes they seem to be correctable, other times they are not.  No sure what is so special about this card from other MX NVidia cards.

and yet for some of us .. the MX 440 works lovely +)

My guess its something to do with w2k and drivers.. or directx

Have him make sure there are NO remnants of the old drivers/card left on his system anywhere

I am using:

XP1800+ (@1900spec)
512SDR
Win XP Pro (sp1)
Dx9
MSI MX 440 64mb ddr  41.09 drivers
