Which Sound card is good for Ace's High?
« on: March 28, 2003, 10:11:08 AM »
I need help. My sound Blaster PCI 128 started going bad on me about 4 months ago. I would lose sound, or get a loud static noise, or I would lose all sounds but my engine sound. All this happening while playing AH. Wouldn't happen in any other programs. (But does happen in other games, Panzer Commander, Steel Beast, Medal Of Honor). So I finally yanked it out and replaced it with a old sound card (thanks Snoopy) until I can get a new one.

I've been looking at Creative Labs and Turtle Beach sound cards. I want to spend only about $70 on a new card.  The three cards are:
Creative Labs: SB Live 5.1 or Creative Labs: AudigyMP3
or
Turtle Beach:  Santa Cruz W/Digital Signal Processor 6 channel, Discrete 5.1

What is your oppinion on these cards. Or do you have any other ideals that have work great for gamers?

Thanks

You don't need a soundcard with the nforce2 board.

It has one of the best available soundcards built in the board.
Spending money to a separate one would be totally mad.

The sound built onto the A7N8X deluxe is as good as the Audigy 2.

what is the major differences (if any) between the audigy 1 & 2?

any reason to seriously consider upgrading as long as the audigy 1 is working?
