Masterclass?
« on: March 28, 2003, 04:08:15 PM »
This might be better posted in the AH2 forum, but here goes anyway.

If HTC can manage it, I would really like to see veterans like Eagl and Mouse giving masterclasses. Limited interaction with the watching masses (probably moderated by HTC), but more of a presentation of how to do things.

I think it would be fine but you should only allow the master race to attend.

That was kind of a weak effort don't you think Laz? Come try again, with FEELING this time.   :)

In AW there were online lectures on things such as E-fighting, wingman tactics, SA, mastering the merge, fighting at a disadvantage...etc, as well as lectures geared to a specific airframe.

The O'Club and briefing rooms were excelent for these lectures and the information was very much appreciated by the attendees.

I think that I heard that HT is going to give us something similar to the briefing rooms with AH v2, if so then it may be time the AH volunteer corps to put together some lectures for the masses.

Might be a little difficult.  I think Eagl burned a few bridges on his way out of here a while back.

speeches are fine.....

demos are fine too.....

why dn't you ask or just saddle up BESIDES a vet and be in the THICK of it with him.....

for 2 years a good friend of mine(virtual world of course)....named
HEDD....hmmm since he is 65 years old I call em Mr.Hedd.....he followed me around stickin on my 6 just too see....

1- how to survive
2- how to fight
3- how to fight with wingman
4- how to TnB
5- how to BnZ
6- which plane suits his style

now he consistently lands his kills....

now he survives.....which was his biggest problem.

I'm not saying he can kill a vet like Urchin or Apar or who ever you think is very good....but he sure can hold his own and survive...

DO IT....If ya ain't sure how....there is always 200 + in the arena....I'm sure 1 person can tell ya.

when ya wanna learn how to REVERSE on a vet...come see me:D

thats the hardest too learn....and very hard to show.

but your idea is a fine 1....good thinking:cool:

I saw all this during AW and WB.  A lot of it was basically oriented to the flight model for a particular sim, and most of what I learned about the Corsair in AW doesn't apply so much in AH.  Anybody remember RocketMan's Corsair lectures?

I think we have a Training Arena for this sort of thing.  Then again, maybe a lecture would be a good incentive for folks to go to the Con.

Mr.Hedd has been doing great.....trying to take my time showing em took alot of patience...but it paid out for em...which I'm glad for.

now be nice steve....you go out and try teaching a 65 year old man to fly...see how easy it is....hmm hmm....good luck:eek:
