Was at my friend's, he has a 2 meter dish and maybe 3000 different channels.

Iraqi TV is back on. It's nice, peace bombings for freedom of speech didn't shut them down...

I don't understand anything in Arabic language, but the picture that most of the Arab TV channels shows is absolutely different from what is on CNN or even BBC.

Syrian TV showed burned down American tanks (M1s) for 20 minutes, without any comments. Dozens of them. Dozens.

I looked very carewfully, to be sure it's not one blown up Abrams being filmed in different surroundings.

I don't know if they were burned during this war, so - I "sell it for  the same price I bought it".

John, again - I say only what I saw. I don't know if that M1s are US or maybe Israely or whatever, I only tried to make sure that they are not one tank filmed for propaganda purposes.

AFAIK it's impossible to recieve most of the Arab local channels in Western hemisphere. So I just inform you.

I just saw it by occasion.

I think I'll ask my friend to capture that thing if he'll see it again. If it's OK then I'll just put the MPEG2 file on FTP. Bigger file, but with broadband - who cares, and I don't want to dive into the lame utilities to encode it with DivX.

It's funny, Iraqi TV mostly shows talking heads and interviews, all in Arabic. I saw evening prayer their too. (maybe Saddam plays with religion like Stalin did in 1942?) Also some patriotic clips with flag, symbol and then dancing Bush.

I'm pretty sure that in the history of the world there have never been dozens of burning M1 tanks.

One of the beauties of embedded journalists is you get much of the good with the bad.   Case in point is the 4-6 day break everyone is talking about.

In europe, 4 out of 5 destroyed Shermans were recovered and returned to combat status.  Lets see if we can match or even pass those enviable efforts of our grandfathers :)

I sense your glee at the misfortune of the M1s --am--.  Thats ok.

To be honest I didn't sense any glee in that post whatsoever. He just answered your reply with sarcasm... which I guess would be natural enough if, despite having your posts called outright lies, they turn out to be true.

Just checked a few news sites... still couldn't find anything more yet.

I dont know guys, but your sources late :) i heard  this news day ago.
But looking to nbc or sky web pages its hard to find fresh news.
Dunno mby its "politics" of your massmedia.

Boroda, u live long enought  in comunistic country /as me/ to know 2 diferent things are official tv news, and real life.:P

I not understand why u all guys exciting so much when see burning vehicycle/tank and count casulties.
Its war!!!  Im really suprised losses on both sides are so low.
Couples burning  bradleys or abrams are nothing special .
All what do u see on TV or read ing news, even from gru site;)
are propaganda war. True u can see in couple years or later.
One u can be sure, its lots of pain on both sides about casulties.
Military and civilian losses
