I'm a glutton.  But I like entire jars of Jalapeno peppers at a time...I've eaten them for breakfast many times.  Lately, I've been on a boiled peanut jag, even to the point of boiling them myself.  And buddy, let me tell you, they're good.  I eat about two pounds at a time.  With Jalapeno seasoning, of course.

Now, if Krispy Kreme was to come up with Jalapeno flavored doughnuts, I'd be hooked for life.:D

Hiya Airhead!!!

Boiled peanuts is a traditional Southern treat.  Yankees don't go much for them because they're "soft and wet."  But if you grew up in the South, boiled peanuts is natural as rain.:)

My recipe:

For 3 pounds of boiled peanuts, you need...

3 one pound bags of raw green jumbo Virginia peanuts. (Wal Mart peanuts are best)

One 3 quart Crock Pot and one 7 quart Crock Pot.

8 ounces Louisiana Cajun seasoning (powder.)

One 12 ounce can nacho sliced jalapeno peppers. (La Costena is what I use)

............................. ............................. ............................. ......

Divide proportionally between the two crock pots...

2 ounces Cajun seasoning and 4 ounces peppers with liquid, and 5 cups water for the small cooker.

6 ounces Cajun seasoning and remaining peppers with liquid, and 10 cups water for the larger cooker.

............................. ............................. ............................. .........

Small cooker takes 10 hours boiling time.
Large cooker takes 13 hours boiling time.

............................. ............................. ............................. .........

Use 1 quart Mason jars to can the peanuts.  Makes about 6 to 7 jars.

Type in "boiled peanuts" in your search engine.  There is much info there, and several recipies.

Bon apetite!

Yup- in the shell, in a brine water mix... I dunno the exact ingredients, but in the boondocks around these parts they sell 'em pre-packaged in cans... all you have to do is microwave/boil 'em.

Pretty damn good.

Krispy Kreme donuts are a little slice of heaven, and Hell will come a week later when you realize your pants don't fit anymore. :)

Get'em glazed for a light snack or vanilla-cream filled for a meal.

In my travels across the country I have found that donuts in western States seem to be much more breadlike and less sugary, while donuts in the midwest and east are much more sugary (especially the fillings).
