Plus, maybe the head of GE happens to feel differently than Arnett does.  It is his right to fire him.

I really believe it to be that simple.

Coupled with the fact that as soon as Arnett got hired by the Mirror, he recanted his apology.  I'm not sure Arnett has any principles he would stand behind.  Either he thinks he made a mistake or he doesn't.  Either way, doesn't matter to me, but at least be consistent.

Was a joke....

almost...

well.....

:p

BTW, I dont think is so simple, in a country that is controlled by money, nor GE, neither Government are guilty (or innocent) of what happens...

but this is another whole matter.

I hope to do it, in the future, but is extremely difficult to made it directly in english, since each time I tried I have been named anti-american in the sense of "american people heater".

I have to reserve time to write down in italian and then translate it in a understandable english, but, at the moment i have little time. :(

Anyway, the will is scarce, basicly because any try to have a rational discussion is faked by name-calling, political biasing, or personal agendas.

And the moment is not the best one..... "with us or against us"

Toad is quite right.  Most people are more than willing to wave the "freedom of speech" flag around, but forget that they have to accept responsibility for that freedom when they chose to exercise it.
Freedom for anything does not come without responsibilites.

Naso,
I hope you didn't take my post as being aggressive towards you or your post.

I only wanted to point out that GE would be the driving element behind any decision making process with regards to Arnett.

I understand the language expression barriers.  My wife is from Mira Bella, outside Avellino (sp?)!  Near Naples.

What kind of moron would go on Iraqui TV and say stuff like that and expect to keep his job?
That has to be the dumbest journalist ever.

Hehe, free speech! I agree with Mr. Toad too.  Speaking from experience, the most satisfying free speech is being able to sally forth when it seems that everyone is against you! I believe in being able to hold an opinion, and express it courteously within the rules of the medium,  even if it does not accord with perceived majority thinking. A bit of ribbing is OK :)

No Problems at all, Cobra, I am used to far more aggressive answers.

Once someone menaced to put my home coordinates in a JDAM bomb! ;) .... (j/k), others will never drink a beer with me, and someone want to kick my nice (check photo  ) ugly face, just because I have different opinions :).

Anyway, GE will not have pressed to that outcome, if the public opinion would have been oriented differently by all the mass media, each of one is under different pressures, for different reasons, to support this war at the cost to "filter" the info given to the US people, plus, GE has, like others aerospace/armament-connected industries, a real and tangible (sp?) interests to present this war as "the mother of all the just wars"..... There's a 73 Billion $ cake to eat!! :D

Ooops !!! I am going to be burned alive

Anyway, Very good food in Avellino Zone, There's a restaurant on the highway, at Mirabella, that is the best restaurant accessible directly from the highway in Ita. :) IMHO, of course.
