Not sure if this will help but it is worth a try (I had this problem with my old stick a few months ago).

Try going into the in-game AH joystick setup and recalibrate the stick and "Apply".  I believe what I had to do with my old stick was turn the damping way down.

There are 3 different types of autopilots in AH, Level (X), Auto-Angle (Ctrl-X) and Auto-speed (Alt-x). When shifting to a gunner  you will have to be in the Level Auto or Auto-Speed. If you are in the Auto-Angle it will go to level autopilot. Same thing if you are not in autopilot and switch to gunner.

When in gunner you can still turn the plane by applying rudder input. This will make the autopilot roll the plane and start a turn. the more rudder the harder turn.

So maybe what you feel as autopilot comming off is really just you applying rudder unintentionally?

Check your rudder.  That fixed it for me.

Is it causing the plane to wildly go out of control and lose altitude?  Jumping to a gunners or bombers position will cause the plane to go into level auto pilot(x).  If you have it on autoclimb and change positions it will change auto pilot from a climb to level and back again when you goto the pilots position.  As stated you can bank your plane with the rudder in a gunners position and with a twist stick this can be done accidentally.  It is a great feature to dodge and shoot at the same time

Hope ya figure out the problem tho!

thx for the replies guys. here are the answers to your questions:
* I allways put the plane in anto Altitude before switching to guns
* The plane goes into a deep banking pos all the time(in guns For the last few days, and it always banks left no matter which plane i fly in the cockpit position, so i have to constantly correct it)
*i have a logiteck extreme digital with the little throttle on the base(which does not work)No twist rudder

thx
