Right, soviet system was famous for its free market, abcense of government control, private money issue, right to bear arms...

You just say so becasue you see "russian" in the Zigrat's post - not becasue you understand anything in my arguments or even know the difference between "russian" and "soviet".

I know the difference between Russian and Soviet, but your diatribes are pure 1970's Soviet disinformation.  Your post about America being an imperialist country was classic.  America "infiltrated Hawaii and overthrew the government", America "fought to keep Vietnam a French colony".

As far as your predictions of fiscal doom, I've been hearing those all my life.  Do you think European finance ministers can manage the Euro better than we manage the dollar?  The Euro is made of paper just like the dollar.  And we don't get 'free stuff' from other countries.  We pay for it.  When the dollar is strong we get a lot, when it is weak we get not so much.

Why don't you post another list of books you bought on Amazon, that is really impressive.

GRUNHERZ - now you are at least talking rationally. Certainly, finish your paper and check the sources at your leisure.
No rush. I am not going anywhere and neither does the issue.

Well those countries need stuff from us and need to do business with us as well

It is obvious that both sides of the trade depend on each other and will get hurt if it seases - at least short-time.

But which side will get hurt more? The one that sells real products in exchange for paper that cannot buy anything - becasue if it could, we would not have the $500 imbalance.

Once the chinese relalise they are not going to get back any real stuff for the dollars they receive from US, their products will stop.
We screwed the world once out of a lot of value - when Nixon junked Bretton Woods in 1971.
They deposited their gold (extracted as taxes from their population - no other source for government to get money) at guaranteed $32/oz and then were offered to get it back at $800/oz. Of course then we could keep them in line - with Soviet threat, indistrial and technological domination. No more.

BTW nice little jab at the income tax system adoption, would you like more tarrifs or no more government whatsover?

When did I ever mention income tax system adoption? I am not reluctant to talk about it but I certainly have not in this thread.

I refer to 1913 establishment of Federal Reserve, not any tax changes.

ra: but your diatribes are pure 1970's Soviet disinformation

So I should not say something I've learned from american scientists and substantiate it - just becasue some ignorant american thinks that 1970s soviet propaganda said something similar?

ra: Do you think European finance ministers can manage the Euro better than we manage the dollar? The Euro is made of paper just like the dollar.

Why would I care if european monetary system collapses? I am not saying Euro would be better for theworld than dollar - though probably no worse.
I am saying that US will suffer if dollar stops being the world reserve currensy in favor of anything else - Euro, gold, uranium, etc.

As far as your predictions of fiscal doom, I've been hearing those all my life.

Do you think $500 billion a year world's tribute to america through stuff/paper exchange could have something to do with the delay that doom?
Could it be that prevention of that doom is why we are in Iraq?

I may be ignorant, but I know better than to believe that social, political, and fiscal matters are the domain of scientists.

So I should never repeat anything just becasue the guy who wrote it has Ph.D. in Economics or Nobel Prise Winner in front of his name?
Not just because I hail from former Soviet Union?

Who asks you to believe anything? Not that you have any difficulty believing a lot of unsubstantiated crap.

Look at arguments, examine them, come up with counter-arguments, persuade me.

If you think you have the good answers to my assertions, why don't you just present them, rather then dismissin my point becasue of my imaginary origin or association with 1970th Soviet Union.

That would be a wise move.

The world we think we live in is mostly an illusion.  An alien race living on a planet hidden behind the Sun projects thoughts into our heads to make us behave in ways which amuse them.  They place bets on how we will react to their games, and, during their annual moondance holiday, they kidnap 2,305 humans to be slaughtered as the main course for the feast.

Pat Sajak is their secret representative here, they consult with him before making any big decisions.  He is not one of them, he is a human, but they like Wheel of Fortune so much they let him in on the real situation.

Lately, they have been getting bored with humans, and in 2018 they are scheduled to move to another galaxy to play games with another race.  Then we will all have the veil lifted from our eyes and we will see that the real Earth looks almost entirely like the outskirts of Phoenix.  But at least we'll be free.

Look at arguments, examine them, come up with counter-arguments, persuade me.

Some Dieter quotes:

"Vhy is it that the truly brilliant are doomed to a life of obscurity, surrounded by a sea of mediocrity, only to end up covered in sores in a pool of their own filth? Oh vell, the beat goes on."
"Vould you like to touch my monkey? Touch him! Love him! Liebe meine abst-monkey."

"Textures intrigue me."

"A fat man and a shprinkler are soon together."----Old Bavarian adage

"Yes, Ve are doomed and I am filled with remorse, and it is most delicious."

"Sadly, Klaus is limited. But he is beautiful, is he not?"

At Dieter's Dance Party , in response to a record being rated -3 on a scale of 1 to 14, Dieter says, "Sadly, there are no integers on this scale, so your gangly adolescent attempt to be clever has proved futile."

"You are beautiful and angular."

"Now is the time on Sprockets vhen ve dance." [/B]

ra: Look at arguments, examine them, come up with counter-arguments, persuade me.

Why should I? You may be right or wrong, whatever.
I do not care enough about the nature of reality or fate of a few people a year or what happens after 2018 to have an opinion on the subjects you've proposed to discuss here. They have no relation to the subjects I am interested in.
I will certainly not care to join any discussion where you espouse such views - I have nothing to contribute, noither con nor contra. Same goes for many other topics - the validity of christianity, french vines, hindu mythology, etc.

You did seem interested in the topics I was discussing here - US monetary policy in particular. I made certain assertions. You've indicated you have information that refutes them.
You are welcome to refute them but I am certainly not making you do so. If you just prefer to express your disagreement without explaining it - fine. That fact may be valuable for someone.
Not for me, though. Since I am not likely to change my worldview on the basis of popular vote, yours is wasted on me.
Maybe some other readers of this thread will be affected by it. Scorn of books, intellectuals and decision by uninformed majority approving government propaganda seems to be an old american tradition, so why not?
