As far as your predictions of fiscal doom, I've been hearing those all my life. Do you think European finance ministers can manage the Euro better than we manage the dollar? The Euro is made of paper just like the dollar. And we don't get 'free stuff' from other countries. We pay for it. When the dollar is strong we get a lot, when it is weak we get not so much.

Why don't you post another list of books you bought on Amazon, that is really impressive.

It is obvious that both sides of the trade depend on each other and will get hurt if it seases - at least short-time.

But which side will get hurt more? The one that sells real products in exchange for paper that cannot buy anything - becasue if it could, we would not have the $500 imbalance.

Once the chinese relalise they are not going to get back any real stuff for the dollars they receive from US, their products will stop.
We screwed the world once out of a lot of value - when Nixon junked Bretton Woods in 1971.
They deposited their gold (extracted as taxes from their population - no other source for government to get money) at guaranteed $32/oz and then were offered to get it back at $800/oz. Of course then we could keep them in line - with Soviet threat, indistrial and technological domination. No more.

BTW nice little jab at the income tax system adoption, would you like more tarrifs or no more government whatsover?

When did I ever mention income tax system adoption? I am not reluctant to talk about it but I certainly have not in this thread.

I refer to 1913 establishment of Federal Reserve, not any tax changes.

So I should not say something I've learned from american scientists and substantiate it - just becasue some ignorant american thinks that 1970s soviet propaganda said something similar?

Why would I care if european monetary system collapses? I am not saying Euro would be better for theworld than dollar - though probably no worse.
I am saying that US will suffer if dollar stops being the world reserve currensy in favor of anything else - Euro, gold, uranium, etc.

Do you think $500 billion a year world's tribute to america through stuff/paper exchange could have something to do with the delay that doom?
Could it be that prevention of that doom is why we are in Iraq?

I may be ignorant, but I know better than to believe that social, political, and fiscal matters are the domain of scientists.

If you think you have the good answers to my assertions, why don't you just present them, rather then dismissin my point becasue of my imaginary origin or association with 1970th Soviet Union.

Why should I? You may be right or wrong, whatever.
I do not care enough about the nature of reality or fate of a few people a year or what happens after 2018 to have an opinion on the subjects you've proposed to discuss here. They have no relation to the subjects I am interested in.
I will certainly not care to join any discussion where you espouse such views - I have nothing to contribute, noither con nor contra. Same goes for many other topics - the validity of christianity, french vines, hindu mythology, etc.

You did seem interested in the topics I was discussing here - US monetary policy in particular. I made certain assertions. You've indicated you have information that refutes them.
You are welcome to refute them but I am certainly not making you do so. If you just prefer to express your disagreement without explaining it - fine. That fact may be valuable for someone.
Not for me, though. Since I am not likely to change my worldview on the basis of popular vote, yours is wasted on me.
Maybe some other readers of this thread will be affected by it. Scorn of books, intellectuals and decision by uninformed majority approving government propaganda seems to be an old american tradition, so why not?
