Jaws

Could there be a better movie?  I first saw JAWS when I was three or four years old.  The end scene with the shark racing towards Chief Brody would terrify me every time I saw it.

JAWS was on tonight on AMC, and I couldnt help but marvel at how wonderful a storyline it had.  Its not totally unrealistic, and I believe that helps make it an enjoyable movie to watch.

I have seen this movie perhaps 50 times, and I truely think it has helped shape me into the person I am today.  I have always had a fascination with fish, and am now studying biology at the University of Louisville with a goal of becomming a marine biologist.

If I recall correctly, the original Jaws movie stirred up such anti-shark sentiment that people were chartering fishing boats and going out to 'hunt' sharks in the late 70s/early 80s.

Better? Not Sure, but Alien definitely scarier. "Thought" it would be a good idea to drop acid before watching the premier.

I thought it was a great movie when it came out... scared the sheet outta me. Today, that mechanical shark just looks silly.

Jaws came out when I was 11 and I saw it in the theater.. scared the holy hell out of me, I remember news reports of empty beaches and resorts cause the whole country was freaked out and didn't want to go in the water.

I tried to join The Navy, but they would not let me in because I could not swim, so I joined the Coast Guard. If the ship sank, I could wade back to shore.:D

I took a young lady to see Jaws when it came out (first date no less).  Worked rather well for some reason.

Heh, lived at the beach then. GF with whom I saw the movie was the prime mover on many backpacking trips afterwards. She seemed to lose all interest in the surf and sand..... ;)

100% w/ ya on Eraserhead.
