No, more like beef.
Tough, stringy, gamey flavour....but almost zero fat.
Makes a good stew if cooked in a camp oven for about 3 days over a fire with some vegges.
Tastes like ****, but you can live on it

Actually, pet kangaroos and wallabies are pretty common in the rural areas of Australia.
We have thousands of proffessional shooters working all over the country, plenty of does get shot with a joey in the pouch, most often, when found, these joeys are quickly killed, but sometimes people keep them as pets.
Had a mate who did exactly that with a young buck Red kangaroo joey....was great, he hopped around the house, was house trained, slept in big bag made out of a sheep skin nailed to the wall, and kept the lawn nicely clipped.
Then one day when he was about 4 years old, he virtually disemboweled my mates 60 year old father with one quick swipe of his back feet ( by this time, he was 6ft tall and weighed about 85 kilo).
They may look cute to someone who doesnt see them every day, but remember folks, these guys can do the un-armed combat thing better than you....LOTS better.
They have hind legs capable of sending an 80+ kilo animal about 11 meters in one hop, on the end of those legs are feet, tipped with claws about 5cm long.
They can prop themselves up on their tail, grab your head with their front legs and 'hug' you, then boot you in the guts with a downward swipe that will rip you wide open.......great pets.
Granted, those figures are for a red kangaroo, the biggest of the lot, but a wallabie is just his little cousin, still very cute, still very dangerous sometimes.
