Gunnery changes?

Well I had this feeling since the release of 1.04...but now I am pretty sure that **something** has changed in the gunnery.

HT, Pyro, has the gunnery changed?...I have never been a great shooter, but *not* hitting a Lancaster, in a down-up pass at 300-200 yards...well...

I ain't hitting nothing either  

Probably because of icon changes; seems I depended a wee bit too much on tem when judging lead or deflection shots.

 Id swear the guns stop working when the icon winks out. Who knows. I ve been fireing at the same spots for months, they always lit up before. BTW I like the icon setup.

Them dissin icons make it about 50% harder to hit anythng while pullin med-hvy g's because of the bullet drop below your view. ...... but i likes it ..  this gettin better all the time.

Huhmmmm...no, I dont talk 'bout icons dissapearing, I ask about the gunnery itself.

For instance, yesterday I attacked 3 times in a row that lancaster,down-up attacks, I was used to do them to the B26s (much smaller targets)...spent 450 20mm rounds only to hit him a bit in the wing ,at 300! yards ,when I used to be quite good in those popping up attacks.

The icon kept visible all the time...so cant be that.

Another example, near A1 yesterday I dived to clear a six, got in 250yds and fired a 100 round burst on a sitting spit.
only 2! pings.

As I said, I never was a hot shot, but neither am I a lousy shot. Something happens here, and dont know exactly what.

Why hard deflection shots are so difficult now?
Am no the only one who has noticed this! And from the first minute after 1.04 download.

Something has changed in my opinion too.
Maybe it depends on FM....

Maybe it's the plane attitude. If HT has changed FM, maybe your guns are not pointing the same point they used to, because the plane is not flying the same (AOA, comes to my mind). Just a guess, I suck now as I usually sucked at gunnery in previous versions.

Deflection shots are hard now because there is no longer an icon below the nose to help track the bogy.
 I find that about the only way to get a really high deflection shot, when in a lead pursuit, is to guess-timate when to pull the trigger. Or, for exmaple, if flying the P-38 I'll move my head all the way left or right so I am able to look at the contact a bit around my nose.
 Otherwise I've noticed no change in ballistics or the guns at all. They're the same, except the bill board is gone telling me to "!Shoot here!"

Yep no more cheating, aiming at the icon when the plane is under your nose.    

Makes the old Lufberry a bit more useful.

The other change is that planes are generaly traveling faster now, hence different amount of lead.

Check your convergence settings....they can change after a new dl.

Something else is going on... and I think part of it is the new FM/joystick feel. Making small adjustments to the flight path near the center of the stick produces a diffrent 'bobble' than the original 'bobble'.

Yah, I know; that sounds whacked, but assuming that 'gunnery did not change' and since we're not talking about deflection/icon issues, but rather normal tracking shots from within normal lethal ranges, I've seen my giunnery go from .1300 to .0750 or so... dammit; I can't hit squat suddenly!!! So something changed! Snap shots are useless concepts.. the planes whip thru the bullet stream so quick I've had NO sprites on shots that used to kill.

It's time to re-learn how to point and shoot these damn guns with this new FM!

Further.. dunno what's causing this but with this rev I'm seeing a whole bunch more warping close in.. I saddle up tight; squeeze off a shot; and WALLAH.. damn thing has warped 15 degrees around the circle...
I'm shootin into his ghost. That REALLY sucks.

Whats remarkable is that in 4 days I have not had one engagement in close where warping was NOT present! And; folks THAT also porks gunnery BIGTIME, and genreally reduces my warm fuzzies about the new FM's.. I mean; gee whiz, it flies nice; but fer crissakes I can't hit nothin cause the damn con's are warping and the damn FM bobbles around the center of the JS.. humph.  

Seems to me when we have more tha about 100 bodies on the server; the close in warping becomes REALLY bad. Time for that HA yet HT?
