F4U-1C "lead bricks" -a petition

Dear Pyro,

I'd like to turn back a few pages in AH history.

Anyone who remembers Aces High two years ago remembers the domination of the Main Arena by the F4U-1C (lovingly called the CHog). That powerful aircraft with its four antisocial lasers and long clip was the bane of every other pilot flying in range of its spray. Because of that, people complained that the plane didn't belong in the Arena due to its limited impact in WWII. Soon after, the plane was perked and some 600-900 lbs of lead bricks were added to its flight model, forever leashing the beast.

Turning back to the near future.

Now that AH is going to the dual nature of a game and a sim/rpg, isn't it about time that the bricks be taken out of the F4U-1C? You can make it a 30-point perk in AH Classic and it'll never get out of the hangar in AHII.


Please, Please, PLEASE give us the plane we know and love back to us.

 You're making that sound as if HTC purposely added in extra weight to neuter the Chog..

I really dont think the CHog should be perked in the first place. The N1K and CHog are basicaly one in the same as far as its canons go... The Jap cannons have a little less effective distance to them but very much alike. So should we perk that too. And what about the La7, everyone and their brother flys that thing, should that be perked??? My point is, Please Please Please de-perk the CHog:D

I say We Perk out the LA-7 to encourage those pilots learn tactics in other planes.

Seems to me that far too many ppl are taking advantage of that speed and running more than fighting. Maybe even do the same for the Pony.

Gotta be careful here.  The most hazardous undertaking by HTC is that of riding the fine blade (with a snail sliding along it)   between game and sim.


It needs to be believable enough to the adults, but fun enough for the kids.......I guess

When does the perking stop??? You can't go perking the Pony that for sure. HTC would get so much crap that they couldn't handle it. I will say though, there are alot of guys who fly La7s regularly. Perk them and you can be it will make alot of guys very unhappy. Remember, this is also a game as much as it is a flight sim. Start making people mad and they will stop paying their 15 bucks a month and find another game to play.

Ok we perk the LA7 like the CHog.The LA7 dweebs get mad and leave.The down side is.......................
  Seriously tho,the CHog shouldnt be perked.The additional weight I have no issue with.Im not informed enough on the subject.It does take a smart hand to fly it tho.Its no LA7 or NIK that anyone that lands less than 4 kills should auger just so nobody knows they landed <1> kill in a NIK

Tell now, why dont you like the La7?? With the C Hog though i do agree with you, it does take a littke skill to fly it. It not the most forgiving plane in the game and for the guys who really like to fly them, this plane whould not be perked:rolleyes:

Chog is my baby. I pay a lot for her. I say up the perk to 40 so I don't have to have a bunch of no skill dweebs ruining my babies reputation.                                         :-/








In case you failed to see the sarcasm, I been crying about this perk ever since the niki and the later la7 came out. Don't perk them but it leaves no reason for my baby to be perks still. In its time it did need the perk, but not now.
