AGREED 100%. with out perking the N1KI and tht La7, there is no reason that the Chog should be perked.

it's the pilot not the plane, i say we perk any pilots with a high K/D

a good pilot in a bad plane will win over a bad pilot in a "good" plane every time.

I dont really know if perking the planes of pilots who are good is really going to do much. Put an experienced pilot in almost any plane he knows how to fly, and he will do well no matter what. I think your getting a little off base from this what this thread is about John. The point of it is, perking the Chog is all well and good, but take out the extra weight that HT put in it. I feel, that the extra added weight should have been enough, and then they went and perked it which is where I disagree.
I also think that if they are going to keep the perks on the Chog, that they also need to perk the N1KI. 4 20mm's with just as many rounds, and the pilots Ive seen fly then are no wheres near prudent when it comes to spaying the sky with 20mm rounds. Its a win loose situation that HT has here. Perk the N1KI and those pilots will complain, keep the Chog perked, and we will complain.
The only other good alternative is to unperk the Chog. Besides, I would much rather fly the Hogs than a N1kI anyday. But the fact that the N1KI isnt perked, and turns awsome, and has the same deadly 20's on it, leans me toward the N1KI time after time.

perk the La-7. The C hog is fine where it is, but the F4U-4, lower to 30 base...most guys are gonna noseplant it anyway

Wait a minute here ... your telling us that the C-Hog had EXTRA weight added to it to pork/neuter it ... or was the extra weight added back on because someone proved that when it was originally introduced is was too light.

I would tend to believe that latter and someone would need to prove the preceeding.

I fly all the F4U variants, and I find that the -D and the -C fly very similar and never get the feeling that the C-Hog is sluggish due to more weight than its -D counterpart.

Where is F4UDOA when ya need him ???

It was added because it was found to be too light. FunkedUp posted a link to post from Pyro in a thread with this same name over at "General Discussion" or was it "Aircrafts And Vehicles". In other words I am too lazy to go find it my self but had the energy to type all this...

Heya SlapShot,

I always lurkinging a dark corner somewhere.

Unfortunately I think I am at least partially responsable for this porking.

In providing charts to Pyro for the F4U-1D I also provided charts that showed an increase in weight of the F4U-1C.

The kicker is that stall numbers are provided with these charts that show very little change in stall. Therefore should have very little change in handling in comparison to the F4U-1D. However it seems to feel much heavier when in fact the difference is a few hundred pounds with little differance in performance.

It's that blasted 205 that needs to be perked.

People fly that death box just to get mega perk points... and that's not right... the only way to get a kill with those water pistols is when the other guy laughs him self into an auger and it's becomes a maneuver kill....

Perk everything (modestly) that wasn't in production when the US of A entered the war. Sure would cut down on the HOs and suicide missions, at least by the perked rides. Also cut the points you get drastically for not landing them. And if you have no points on the mission when you die, you get docked dweeb points for your ineptitude. Oh yea, and if you manage to kill me, no matter what I'm in, you get double the points...

To cut down on HOs and suicide missions make deaths in any plane cost a % of your perks (% so as to never have any player with negative perks).

P = perk cost of plane at takeoff
T = total perks available
C = Perk Cost %
L = Landed (Yes=0 No=1)

Cost = (P+(T*C))*L

(200+(300*.25))*0 = 0 Perk Cost landed Jet
(200+(300*.25))*1 = 275 Perk Cost Death Jet

(0+(300*.25))*0 = 0 Perk Cost Landed Typhoon
(0+(300*.25))*1 = 75 Perk Cost Lost Typhoon
