Does anyone find this odd?
« on: April 11, 2003, 08:15:50 AM »
I was bored and looking through Innominate's stat page, and happened across this:

                      Kills    Deaths
C-47A                  154     2620
Bf 110C-4b             138      138
Me 163B                123       48
Ki-67                  117      642
Spitfire Mk I          107      456
Hurricane IID           94      310
Hurricane Mk I          85      301
SBD-5                   52      275
D3A1                    50      264
P-40B                   44      177
B5N2                    42      264
Bf 109E-4               39      146
Boston III              26      280
Ar 234                  21       73

Now maybe it's just me, but does this say that the goon has more kills than the 163?  Not to mention all those other planes?  Sounds like an awful lot of people get suicidal trying to shoot goons down.

I think it could be the fact that there are more C-47s in the air at any given time than any of the other aircraft.  Statistically, it has a better chance of getting more kills since there are more of them flying and they are flying more often.

It also says something for the skill of the C-47 pilots that fly defensively. :)

Toss in the figure for aircraft kills by parachutes and it will put those kills by C-47 into better context.

not odd at all...c47 seems to take collisions pretty good

and since they fly so ver y very low people always auger while trying to hit them...

Prox kills should be a non factor in these comparisons.

Kind of impressive that the 110c4 has a 1 to 1 K/D too considering the MA environment.

I consider C47s to be more dangerous then TBMs, the TBM will be nice and considerate for you while holding still and pinging at you with his dinky little 30cal. But goons are usually low, so you gotta go down to the deck, bish goons are usually accompanied by a dozen typhs and la7s. When Im a goon  I'll turn, if you're good he'll miss cause you can really get a goon to turn once or twice, this is where the n00b will auger in

Not at all, lol.

I've augered a couple 262s in the goon, the ones that like to sneak behind large missions and get a few easy kills...

You know who you are ;)
