I don't get it either. Even if people hate christians, this isn't the place to get that out and xTERNx isn't the person to take it out on.

He's just looking for some squadmates.

But that's not what this thread was about ... even remotely. I think you've an issue you need to deal with in a less public manner. Just a suggestion. ;)

No, indeed.  As a matter of fact, there are plenty of Christians (not to mention members of other religions) that are, in fact, quite open-minded (not that I've met many yet, but they've got to be out there).

But any religion (take mormonism) that actively try to convert others are by their very nature narrow-minded in that they assume they are the "best" and the path to salvation, assuming "salvation" truly exists.  Catholic proselytizing of Native Americans in California during the 1700s was essentially church-endorsed slavery.

One belief that has my respect, though I am not one, is Judaism - based solely on the fact that not only do they not attempt to convert others, they make it difficult for others to join even if they truly want to!

That being said, I still think we kiss Israel's butt too much in their conflict with Palestine.

While I don't share Tern's religious beliefs, I think it's perfectly okay for him to create a christian-only club.

That is... unless he expects government subsidy... then it's a no go, IMHO. :)

I disagree completely.  I think a public forum is the perfect place to discuss this sort of thing.  Holding it in, in less stable individuals than myself, often leads to violent outpourings of emotion.

But you're right in that I do have an "issue" with the idea of religion being infalliable.  I think it is a worthy topic of discussion.  The thread was not about that, but it did lead to it.

No ... you and a couple of others steered it that way and are still attempting to do so. If you want to have a public debate over the evils of Christianity/Religion and it's negative effect on the world in general and you personally, by all means, start a thread about it. But don't browbeat someone who inadvertantly:

1: Posted a recruiting thread in the wrong place.

2: Mentioned that they are looking for players players who have Christian morals and beliefs and possibly other players from the state of Alaska.

Maybe if someone posts they're looking for players who are used car salesmen you can jump into that thread and complain about the last car you bought. ;)

Your angst is noted as well as your skill in differentiating between good and bad correlations.

Hope some answer your call tern.  I have seen a guy with the handle "forhim", and I believe he is a Christian.  No doubt there are more in the customer base.
