I hope not. News people are peacfull people who want to better this world by reporting it and informing the people. That in itself prevents needless wars and human suffering/death. I can say that I think news people are peace bringers to this world. Hate to see them get harmed in doing this or turn bad by the environment.

EHEM, A gun doesnt make you brave. Informed peoples killed colonialism not kings. Just my opinion.

horsepucky alert!

show me a reporter in that 'CNN Convoy' that does his 'job' to magnanimously 'bring the news to the people'.. they are by nature and current job titles media potatos that would do anything to get their byline on a 'hot' story. They are NOT 'sent' to combat zones, they BEG to go and for thier trouble and risk the payback is to get a big chunk of cash and their faces on the air.

Further.. the guys in the front office.. forever in pursuit of news are quite happy to make some of their own.. reality TV has a new fandom. Live War Coverage.

I think like most people, many have agendas that are hard to keep separate from their jobs.

Im sure they have their own opinions and personal agendas but they report the news. Shrug If I think its boring I just change the channel anyways so thats about how far I want to debate this. Sorry Hangtime, you'll have to get your dose of post debate adrenaline from someone else.

LOL No prob, here, senna. ;) I'm just a lil more jaundiced regarding what the roving live medias role is in a war zone.

If those were 'print' jornalists, they would not have done what they did. they were in my opinion just media potatos. Big diffrence between these roving glory guys and the WWII journalists that stayed with the troops.

I was watching that CNN bit in realtime at 230pm last night.. i found it really rankled.. it was obvious the guys on the front desk were hoping for some 'action'.. and it was just as obvious that the reporter was trying for the same thing.

for them it's 'ratings'..  not 'bringing truth to the viewers'.

if they got hosed id'a said 'serves you dickheads right'.
