I did some work for Ubi, and they owe me a few free games.

I hear people talking about IL2 FB, is it worth adding to my list?

It was made in Russia by a Russian team. Are you sure you want to support Russians, who are all anti-american and support the bloody dictator?

Most of the Russian's I know aren't anti-american at all.  I don't label an entire country by your idiocy.

Martlet> It's the most immersive sim I have played for years, it looks gorgeous and the planes feel..well I dunno they just feel 'right' I've not felt this way about a boxed sim since DI's Tornado sim many years ago. I would recommend it without hesitation.

I'd recommend you get it. It's the only product I know in which there is after market support by the developer for atleast 8 months(based on Il2's support) following the product's release where patches are released that include new planes (either making current non-flyable planes flyable with full cockpit work, ordnance loadouts and "as accurate as possible" FMs/DMs or adding totally new planes as flyable) and a long list of bug fixes/tweaks. I also read recently that Oleg is working on stand alone server support, and will release the server side software once he's satisfied with it.

I don't know if it will be MMP (64+ players) or if it will simply be dedicated servers for the current 32 players.

It's definitely worthwhile, especially if you are into VVS or LW planes.  You will be disappointed if your are a P-47 fan though.  Oleg has no luv for the jug.   Think WB's P-47 crap performance.  It looks nice though. :D

The 190 also has performance reminiscient of the early WB 190s... something changed dramatically since Il2 in that respect.

First patch will come out at the end of April/beginning of May with promises of FM tweaks, and will hopefully fix these two planes up.

Definitely worth a try.

New additions are complex engine management and refined FM and DM.  Other things to mention: rear view mirrors, bullet path and penetration display option, unlimited paint schemes options, exotic planes like Mistel, Gladiator on the way.

A patch is expected soon, some minor fixes to be done.

The speed by which the pilot changes view can seem very slow compared to AH, but this can be changed by going into the conf.ini and under [HookView Config] you change the "Speed" value to around 13-15. You can set it even higher if you are more used to instant views from AH, but I like to just get the feeling that the pilot is taking a splitsecond to turn his head.
